Overlords Baseball League (historical)
Name - Overlords Baseball League
URL - http://www.overlordsbaseball.com Type - Historical league Rules - Starting in 1930. Further details can be found on our website. Number of teams - 16 OOTP 2007 required Currently available teams: League currently full, but posting in this thread is a good way to start the waiting list. Many of the owners currently in the league are all from the forums at Octopus Overlords. Most of us have been involved with that community for five (or more) years and have been active in several other OO-based leagues. I have co-commished the 4OTP (see my signature) and was a founding commish of the GGNL, as well as participating in two other OOTP leagues over the years. We're hoping to find experienced owners who have a history of participating in their leagues. We'll take someone who just gets their exports and draft lists in on time, but participating in league discussions in our forums once you're in the league will be nice as well. Anyone willing to write occasional league articles or updates would be great, but we don't ask anyone to do that if they don't want to. If you're interested in joining us, please post in this thread. If you've played in OOTP leagues in the past, let us know which ones.

I got all of your PMs and appreciate the interest and the information. Flitchplate, if you've participated in any leagues before, please let me know. Simply giving me your e-mail address doesn't help either of us much right now.
For the three of you and anyone else who may be interested, I just want to add that I will be away from the internet for most of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday so please, nobody feel like I'm ignoring you. I'll get back to anyone who shows interest here or on the OBL forums on Friday if I can, at worst this weekend. As I'm the only commish so far, you all get to wait on my schedule for now. Don't worry though, me without daily internet access is usually a rare occurence and shouldn't happen very often once the league starts running unless unforeseen circumstances (loss of power, plague, zombies, excessive alcohol consumption) get in the way. ![]()

I have not been in an OOTP league before, but peaked out (make that burned out) during my college years w/ two Rotiss. teams (one AL, one NL, and we played out the World Series on my Earl Weaver BB ... the NL won) and two hockey pools. Hmmm ... maybe that's what it took five years to get a degree ... ?
I have the time to commit to a pool and love the historic game, preferably after the dead-ball era. If you still need owners, I would be interested in the Evil Empire (hey, somebody's gotta do it), or the St. Louis Browns. I'll PM you.

And I'm back.
flitchplate, the Senators are yours. TribeWarpath, you've got the Reds. progen gets the Phillies and Radsmats can take the Yankees. I just hope you're ready to lose to my Red Sox. If you guys would please go register for our forums at www.overlordsbaseball.com it would be appreciated. For those that sent me an e-mail, I'll get around to checking that at some point this afternoon. Hotmail is currently not letting me log in to check that account.

I'd like to take the White Sox if they're still available. This will be my first online league, but I would be glad to participate. I'm a big baseball history buff, and long time user of OOTPBB.

Kelric, I would be interested in taking a team if your still looking for an owner. I've been out of online leagues for a couple years now but would like to join just one league. Let me know if anything is left.

Back again. My apologies, again, but I'm traveling at the moment/am the only commish currently/don't have OOTP with me. Inconvenient time and all that.
Anyways, the Chicago White Sox are going to go to statman and I'm going to give the Philly Athletics to Kuffu despite this being his first league. To everybody else, thanks for your interest. As any veterans of online leagues know, many times one or two guys drop out relatively early in the process so check this thread from time to time for any new openings. Anyone who has gotten a spot in the league, if you haven't already done so then you must register for our forums on the league website.

The Reds and Athletics are currently available. We just wrapped up most of our rule discussion, so you haven't missed a chance to select your own players. Please post in this thread if you're interested in a team.

I've never played an online league before, so I would need a little help, but it sounds like so much fun. I've been looking to get into one, just couldn't find one that I liked that used OOTP 2007. This one seems pretty cool. I would take the Reds if its still open.

Excellent timing, btw, as neither of the two people I expected to join since my last post have and a third team has opened up. This always happens at the beginning of leagues it seems. Assuming you will sign up to the forums as ec2285, I'll pass the word along to our site admin to let you join. Once you're in, you'll have your pick from the A's, Reds or Browns.

It looks like the Browns are the last team left. If you still need an owner, I'll gladly take them over. I'll head over and sign up for the forums. If the original owner decides to come back or already have the team covered, just let me know.
