SciFi Online League, anyone?

- Set in the Future (2053)
- Fully Fictional Rosters
- OOTP 2007
- 32 Teams (MLB + 2 Expansions)
- 16 Human Owners / 16 AI Owners (to give us room to add or subtract human GMs without losing the league)
- Full Minor League System + NPB + KBO
- 45 year pre-sim to generate a history (starting in 2008)
- GMs to take active role in approving trades, self-policing, approving new expansions.
- 1 Commissioner / 2 Deputy Commissioners (to ensure longevity, in case someone gets burned out)
- League Presidents to act as deputy commishes.

You should allow for inclusion of players like Ted Williams.

After they unfreeze his body and reattach his head, he should be good for 40 home runs and 120 RBIs.

After discussing this with one other interested person (who /might/ join, depending on interest), we've come up with the following rules:

- OOTP 2007
- 32 Teams (MLB + 2 Expansions)
- Full Minor League System + NPB

- 20 year pre-sim to generate a history (starting in 2033)
- GMs to take active role in approving trades, self-policing.
- 1 Commissioner / 2 Deputy Commissioners (to ensure longevity, incase someone gets burned out)
- League Presidents to act as deputy commishes.

Does anyone have any other suggestions or tips? I'm curious to hear on how often a league should sim (slow sim/fast sim), as that's one of the topics up in the air right now.

The only suggestion I'd say is to try and start with a smaller league size. It's very hard filling leagues these days, and to get 32 active owners would be a task and a half. I like the creative thought process, though. Good luck with it.

32 total, but only half would have human owners. We're looking to have a league history to settle into. I'm not sure about other owners, but I, for one, would love to take a crappy franchise and see if I could turn it around. But then, I'm weird like that. I'm in it for the fun, not the glory

Heh. But seriously, would 16 be too large? Or do you think that maybe people would not like to sim against AI owners?

I have also decided, that as commissioner, I will take the team with the worst record overall, once the pre-simming is complete. I like the idea of trying to turn a dismal franchise around.

Awesome. I'll do that. Good to know I have at least 2 people interested

Also, would you have any suggestions for where to put the 2 other expansion teams? I'm thinking one should definitely go to Santo Domingo, PR, and I'm trying to figure out whether the other should go to Vancouver.

I'm going to be setting up a website (most likely through allsimbaseball.com) for the first 23 years of the league. I'll run it solo, and if anyone wishes to participate, then I'll entertain applications.

I would be interested in joining if the ratings scale is a 1-10 format. I can't really get into any 1-100 leagues

Yeah, sorry. I prefer 1-100, because the more granularity to scouting out players there is, the easier it is to make determinations on the ratings with far more accuracy. I'm more apt to go with a 69 than a 60, and yet both would be 6 on the 1-10 scale.
