Expansion in Online

Have any leagues tried expanding yet? Anyone looking into it?

Brewers League Baseball is looking to expand from 20 to 24 teams in the near future and are curious what others experiences have been, what rules you're using, etc.

We expanded back in some earlier version of OOTP. It went pretty smoothly. We basically had manual protected lists if memory serves with additional protections allowed once one player had been taken from your team. Max of 2 players taken from any one team. We had 26 teams at the time, which led to 26 selections in the expansion draft per expansion team (we added 2 teams). A lot of manual work, but it worked out well.

Be prepared to have the expansion teams suck for quite some time. You'll also have to manually adjust financials or they won't make much money. The other negative is that if one of the expansion owners takes a financial risk on high-priced FA or extension signings it's going to have a very big impact on the clubs future since it's so tough to dig yourself out of a hole.
