Retro Baseball League Openings

The RBL is a historical league and we did an inaugural draft in 1996 to set up our rosters. We also have contracted to 24 teams and done some interesting re-aligning. This league has an incentive points program that allows you to bet on MLB games and encourages that you write articles. We are now entering the 1996-97 offseason. We have a good core group of owners but lost a few during our first season which is expected.

The website is www.rbl.allsimbaseball3.com and if you wish to join please click the join league button on the toolbar or the site or send an email to robert.fuhrman@email.stvincent.edu

Openings:

San Diego Padres (83-79)- #5 Minors System
A lot of good young prospects for this team to go along with a solid MLB bunch of players. What will hurt them is Gary Sheffield refused to listen to contract offers and is now testing free agency. Had 2 guys on the NL Rookie of the Year Ballot (Brant Brown and Scott Rolen), and will have another top rookie this year as Bartolo Colon will be a full-time MLB player.

Milwaukee Brewers (72-90)- #18 Minors System
In the terrible NL Central the Brewers were in the race till the end and only finished 10 games out. However, there is some work to be done here, as the MLB club wasn't very good. The bright spot was NL Cy Young and Rookie of the year candidate Francisco Cordova, 14-8 with a 2.77 ERA. They will have a high pick in a loaded draft.

Please either e-mail me at robert.fuhrman@email.stvincent.edu or fill out the "Join League" questionare on our homepage. These are the 2 quickest ways to reach me and guarantee your spot. This is a great league with many interesting twist and features to keep people interested, posting on forum, and trading.

Check out the site, it is very well ran and we have a bunch of great owners that are active.

I was the owner of the Yankees and have left the league because of lack of time. This is a very well run league and has alot of very good active owners. I highly recomend this league to anyone looking to get into a great active league.

Hurry and get in this league as we are now in the off-season. There are some good free agents that can quickly turn a team around.

Bobby runs a good program and is willing to listen to ideas for improvement. We finished the 1996 season quickly by simming 15-days per sim. Bobby has listened to the GMs and we will slow down a bit to 10-days per sim.
