Yet another online-league option... WBL

There are SO many online leagues now all with different options, rules, bells & whistles. It is almost impossible to fill new ones.

This league is PSUEDO-FICTIONAL : Meaning it will use real teams, fictional players...

It has no backstory but an interesting concept, Thanks to NO PEPPER (your uni's are awesome) this was an easy one to set-up - here goes:

It starts in 1940, It is what i would imagine a true "world baseball league" to emulate (in some form) It has a North American League and a South American League.

The North American league is using Negro League Teams and Mexican Baseball League Teams

South American league is represented by Cuba, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic - The League winners will meet for the 'World Series'

I am in the process of simming the first season (to allow players to have a little history) This is being done without any input on my part, It will be what it will be.....

League Outline:

I am using OOTP 08

The league is made up of 28 teams (no minors at the moment - but that is subject to change in the future)

This league WILL NEVER expand beyond 28

This League will use a Wordpress Blog site for all interactions - Forums are allright but I prefer the format and flexability of Wordpress - More on this at sign-up

I would want "active" managers - defined as someone who has the time to spend an hour or so a week - not much but it is a commitment none the less

I have no rules put together yet as I am not sure we need a HUGE constitution to play the game, I will probably put something together (and am always open to suggestions) But nothing formal at the moment

I would be simming Monday's, wednesday's & Fridays (15 games at a time) with a 162 game schedule

I will have an export tracker put up


With 27 teams to fill (Habana taken) this may take quite a while to fill up a league of this size. I will continue to run this league as planned (per sim schedule) regardless of whether I have 1 or 28 managers. I know it is always more enjoyable to face off against other managers BUT the fact is new leagues take a lot of time to fill, So if you have an interest, pick a team and drop me a line - I will fill each manager in as they apply - If you take a team you must remember - I am not waiting to fill all the teams, I will continue to sim and let the teams fill themselves as we go..
