Very Small - Simple 08 League - Pacific Coast League

Putting together a very simple 08 league - It will be a Historical / fictional league. It is based in time in 1903 - It will feature the 6 teams playing in the PCL at the time :

1. Los Angeles Angels
2. San Francisco Seals
3. Seattle Indians
4. Sacramento Senators
5. Portland Beavers (called the Browns at the time - but went with the more common name)
6. Oakland Oaks

They will have 1 minor league affiliate (though not historical - it helps with player development). The Affliate teams will be made up of teams that were part of the Pacific National League in 1903

Like they did - The season will play about 200 games, Starting mid March and playing thru till November.

Rules....

There will not be alot of rules - I think we do not need many as playing the game is self-explanatory. If you cannot do it in game - you cannot do it on-line

There will be no scouts or coaches - I have found many owners do not care for them.

No Free-Agency (first of all it did not exist then)

Finances - One of my least favorite things as it can get hard to control - But it is in

Rosters - The rules of the PCL at the time called for Roster limits of 15 - I will allow 25 (no expanded or secondary rosters)

Like mentioned above all teams will have a Rookie League affliate (Roster Limit 35)

I am in the process of setting up a site - After reading everyone's take on what makes a good league site, I decided to go the old fashioned way - I will be using a Simple Machines Forum Site - It is VERY rough at the moment but will be ready by this weekend

Pacific Coast League

Usually people want the site up prior to signing up - I am doing both sat the same time

The playoff format will be for the Govenor's Cup (read your PCL history ) It will be a split season format - First Half Champion will play Second Half Champion for this.

There will be an export tracker - I will have the computer do the inagural draft (for time constraints) all future drafts will be Manager involved

I will be using No Peppers awesome uniforms (shout out to him for his work)

Sims - Monday, Wednesday, Friday

In a nutshell that is the premise and the facts - I will continue finishing everything.

This is a small league - and will probably always be, They are easier to fill - more intense and smaller file size

The Angels are spoken for - all other 5 teams are up for grabs

please post here if you have interest - with e-mail information and team desired

As I finalize the forum I will get you guys on-board there

Thanks

So why the 25-man roster if not historical? I only ask that from the standpoint that you might have more 'reliever' usage than was historical. Less guys going the distance. Might a 20-man roster be a better compromise?
