Newbie frustrated - game crashes

Forgive me if this isn't the place for this question but it seemed the logical place to me.

Purchased the game (OOTP8) in February and have happily been playing it since then with absolutely no problems. Yesterday, when I tried to open the game, the icon bounces on my dock and then I get the message "the application OOTP8 quit unexpectedly". I am unable to open the game at all.

I have tried to reinstall the game but each time the same thing happens.

The only thing I have done in the last few days is install Football Manager 2008 but, thinking that was maybe conflicting with OOTP, I trashed FM2008 but still have had no luck opening OOTP.

I am running this program on a MAC (Version 10.5.2) but cannot tell you the version of the game i am running as I can't gate to the main screen of the game!

Please, please help as this game is absolutely the greatest baseball sim I have come across and I am loving playing it. I don't want to stop now.

Let me know if there's any further information you require and accept my thanks and apologies in advance for any vagueness on my part.

I'm not a mac expert, but take a copy of your saved games directory (I have no idea where it is on a Mac), uninstall the game, reinstall the game and if that causes your saved games to disappear copy them back from the backup.

If that doesn't cure the problem, I'm sure a Mac expert will be along very soon

Thanks for getting in touch so soon.

But...for information purposes I have already copied my saved game (a fantastic British Fictional League with five levels of minor league - it was great) and tried the uninstall/reinstall route but no joy.

What I will add, and this may help, I've now tried to reinstall Football Manager 2008 and am having the exact same problem. Do you/does anybody think that there may be something deleted off my system that is stopping these programs booting?

When you uninstalled and reinstalled, did you first delete the hidden Application Data folder found at C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 8 ? If not, could you try that?
