Online League Roster issues

Hi -

Unrelated to my unresolved Linux download issue (still need help, please!) I traded a player, Sheriff Blake from my team, Houston Colt .45s to the Phillies. The trade went through and Blake has pitched several games for Philly. After a few weeks suddenly he is on my 40-man roster again. But the weird thing is his team is reflected correctly. He is listed as being on PHI. See screen capture below. Bug or user error?

This is a bug that happens rarely. You'll need to get the commissioner to go into the player and send him to free agency, and then edit him back onto the correct team.

More frequent is uncorrected?

Hi - Thanks for the reply. Apparently this has snowballed into much larger roster issues across our league. After the last sim many of the teams rosters were scrambled, players from other teams were appearing in the rosters of others, clicking on some players brought you to the profile of other players.

Could this bug have been a symptom of broader DB corruption or could not correcting this issue prior to a subsequent sim have caused the league database to have deteriorated as a result?

It has happened a few times in our league in just two seasons.

Thanks.
Jeremy

I'm the commissioner of Jeremy's league. I performed the recommended action but it had no impact of the Sherrif Blake on his 40-man roster. He'back on my active roster, still on Jeremy's 40-man.

Problem Resurfacing

We fell back to a saved version of the league and were doing okay until we hit 1 May again on the schedule, which is the date we announce the draft pool in my league. The same problem with rosters then happened, and it appears to be directly related to the draft pool in some way.

Need some help with this.

Please make this a high priority, OOTP Dev guys...

You can find our league at FBA home

There are 20 very active owners here and I would hate to see the league not be able to move past this. This issue is definitely related to the introduction of the draft pool on May 1. When the new player pool is announced the existing players and rosters get thoroughly scrambled. I can zip up last nights sim for the OOTP guys to look at if you can. This is the second time through and we are encountering the same issue after reverting to a prior date in the league.

Thanks. Jeremy

OK. I'll have a look at the league files and see what's going on.

Tony,

Any idea when will you be able to get back to us? I've got to tell them something or they'll all drift away to other leagues.

I agree with Gary's sentiment. The guys are pretty frustrated and losing interest here. Please help us or tell us we're hosed but don't leave us twisting in the wind.

Thanks.

Utterly confusing this. Sorry for the delay, been away with work.

I downloaded the file and dumped players.csv for the 17th April and then downloaded the updated league file and dumped players.csv for the 1st May. None of the existing players changed team_id's between those two files, so there's no error there.

Back on Sheriff Blake, he is playing for Philadelphia despite having been released by them on the 13th April. He's on the active roster but not on the 40 man roster. So that is a problem.

The only solution I can see is that I put every active player (ie, those with a team onto DFA and let everybody rejig their rosters). If this is acceptable, I'll do that and send the players.dat and teams.dat back over to you.

I have seen this in OOTP 9 and I don't know how to resolve it but the only times it has happened to me is when I sim a season and then after the playoffs start I try to reload a backup from earlier in the season. For some reason it corrupts the player database. I don't know if league commissioners are simming ahead and then going back... If so and they need to do this they should create a duplicate league and do it there. Also I wonder if these corruptions are due to the latest patch because previously I never saw this.

As there hasn't been any reply from the OP with regards to a potential sorting out of the issue, this thread will be closed for housekeeping purposes.
