Here is the error message when I try to load the league:
"DATABASE::load_database - could not load scouting file

When I hit OK, I get the following message:
Error! The loading of the database failed. It is either corrupt or a save game from an old version.

I really don't know what could be the matter. I shut the game down uneventfully Tuesday night. When I tried to start it up Wednesday and tonight, I get the message from above. I have used this league file uneventfully for almost a year now when I got OOTP9.

I saw from a different thread to make sure there are 17 .dat files, which there are. All have data in them and all were saved simultaneously on Tuesday night.

The obvious question is do I have a backup? The answer is no.

What can I do to remedy this situation?

Quickest solution.

Start a new game and turn scouting off. Once the game has 'started', close down OOTP.

In the directory for this new game there should be a scouting.dat file. Copy this file over to your corrupt league's directory

You will lose all previous scouting reports, but you can recreate the OSA ones by choosing the OSA rescout options and your scouts will rescout at some point.
