Skydog, are there items in the quickstart folder that need to be moved to other folders? I thought you had ballparks and a park.dat file?

I don't think so. The park factors and names are working for me when I download to another machine...

Anyone else have your game crash when you click on the NABA Quickstart file? I click on the others and they are fine. The NABA crashes the game. Weird.

Yes it did crash however when I opened the league it seemed fine.

How well do these settings work for a league with say a 120 game schedule?

I'm assuming this is all based on a 162 game schedule.

Will it make a difference with shorter schedules?

Thanks.

Heh. I'm an idiot. The upload I did early this morning was a saved game, not a quick start. I just uploaded a quick start in the same place again. Oops!

No idea what short schedules do to player development, so that might change things up if there's a batter/pitcher imbalance created by short schedules, but as far as how developed players perform, it should make no difference.

Nice job Ben. One thing, the Charlotte team's logo was called something else and didn't originally load up. I did a quick switch and now it works fine.

Ahhhh.....that team was originally Carolina. I switched it to Charlotte because I couldn't fine "Carolina" text for the uniforms. I must have created the QS when they were still Carolina.

Not seeing where the ballparks are or the park data. Separate download? Or hidden in quickstart folder and should run automatically?

All I get are default ballparks.

Hmmm...no idea. When I run it on another machine, I get the parks listed above.

Skydog?

Did you find any issues with your settings and the patch?

My game went from scream fast sims to hanging and crashing all the time when running your quickstart league post patch.

ITs to the point where the game is unstable and unplayable.

None at all. I used the QS league pre-patch, ran it 10 seasons, and then added two expansion teams. I've been playing post-patch with it as well with zero issues.

rats, it must be my system then. I wanted to run your league (love the numbers) for about a decade to build some history and then pick a team. I cant get through a year without rebooting game. I just went back and cut down the number of teams (I tend to enjoy smaller leagues more) thinking 24 teams plus minors was too much....still hanging up.

Ill keep at it.

Thanks.

I downloaded the quickstart again. There are no ballparks anywhere in the file. The teams all have their unique ballpark names, but I don't see where you find the ballpark photo.

Is there a separate link or site to download them or can you point to where they are in the quickstart download?

For example, San Diego plays at Sunshine Field and everything is set for the team by default. But it uses the default_grass and default_turf photos. When you click to load the park, it's nowhere. Also cannot find it in ballpark or news/image files anywhere.

Otherwise, I love your settings, team names and everything about this fictional setup.

SkyDog, its been going well for me too. Nicely done. You mentioned adding two expansion teams. Can you release the logo's, jerseys, etc you used for that?

Thanks.

Ah! We're talking two entirely different languages here. I didn't even know you could put ballpark photos in, or even where I'd see them. By ballparks, I just meant names and ballpark factors.

I wanted to play in my own solo league as an expansion team, so I did a two-team expansion to the Eastern Circuit. I'm from Columbus, GA originally, so I added the Columbus Mudcats to the southeast division and am running that team. I also added the Pittsburgh Coal Miners to the northeast.

I'm not sure the best way to share the logos and whatnot, though. Maybe zip up the new logos and screen shot the colors I'm using?

So it is working as intended? Each team has a different stadium name and dimensions, but it runs from the default stadium picture?

Some day, if you feel really, really ambitious, you ought to match Teflon's fictional ballparks into each of your fictional teams. But then you'd have to set ballflight and player positions for each one -- unless that sticks together with the teflon download. Hmm. Might have to check that. Would be nice to have those great ballparks with your super setup. Really enjoying what you've done.

Games are playing much more competitively. I just lost four straight games by one run and three of the four were decided in the 10th inning. Now that's great baseball, even when you lose. Much more strategy and management in these kind of games.

Other thing, one of the fictional players happened to be from a tiny, tiny town only 7 miles from where I was born (Greenville, Ohio). Amazing that this was generated from the database. And he was such a power hitter that I grabbed him in the inaugural draft. He hit 3 HR in first 3 games of this new league.

Loving it.

Sure. I've never seen a stadium picture in OOTP. I assume you see it when managing a game, which I've never done.

If someone wants to add that to the package, they can go for it. I can say definitively that I won't be doing it, since it would bring me zero extra value.
