Is this a retroactive offer??

I'd use the $10 on Spaten so it would help stimulate the German economy.

This is why you guys need to pre-order Seriously, hopefully this helps anyone still on the fence purchase this fantastic game.

I was still on the fence because i haven't had much time to play OOTP 8 recently and missed the pre-order. But with the reduced price, i'll be downloading the game tonight!

Thanks guys!

I should have just waited a week!

First let me just say that I am a loyal customer and fan of the OOTP series!

I do have two issues.

1. I own an iMAC and so I purchased the OOTP 9 game for that platform. SOme of the roster sets are "buggy" on MAC and I was surprized to see that I would have to ALSO purchase a PC version of the game! Technically the game is only residing on one computer........but to take full advantage of ALL the mods out there I bit the bullet and also purchased the PC version. So now I am out roughly $50 bucks for what should be a $30 game. Like I said, just doesn't seem fair.

2. 1 week after purchasing the PC version at FULL PRICE, a special offer is extended for the all star break!

Can anything be done?

I bought the game last week too but I am not going to cry about this ten dollar off special. The game is worth every penny I spent on it so if Marcus can sell more games then I say, good for him. The more people we have in this community, they better it is for us all. Some of the new people might be modders at some point and enrich the game even more, plus this makes Marcus and his team here keep even more aware of the small problems with the game and fix them in a timely manner.

So, complaining about this is kind of a waste of time. You bought the game because you wanted it, at the price it was, or you wouldn't have bought it at all in the first place. So, we bought it a week too soon. I am sure this was a sudden decision on Marcus' part and those of us who bought it last week or the day before just missed out on it. That's all there is to it. Sitting there complaining about it is kind of a waste of time, in my opinion.

Hope you sell a lot of the games at that price Marcus. I think you deserve all you can sell at that price. I love the game for any price.

Hi guy's!

I bought this game just 2 hours ago, and i was wondering if this has all the new patches automatically installed? Because below in the starting screen it say's Ootp 9.1.2, and as i read on this forum that was the last patch released... So do i still have to patch the game up, or are all the now known bugs out of my game?

Thank You!

Hi there! I must admit, I'm a little confused about this statement. There shouldn't be any reason that you should HAVE to buy both versions of the game. I wasn't aware that there were any roster problems that were specific to one operating system or the other??

Mods should work equally on either operating system. If they don't, well, then that's a problem that should be worked through technical support, or with the creator of the mod, and it really shouldn't be a reason to force you to buy two copies of the game!

Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about the fact that you purchased the game shortly before a discount appeared. As you can imagine, these sorts of promotions need to be very fixed in duration. If we could afford to sell the game at $30 all the time, we would. But, you can also imagine the can of worms it would open if we made exceptions. If we let everyone who bought the game in the last week get in on the discount, there would be complaints from those who bought the game TWO weeks ago, or one week AFTER the discount.

Sadly, any time you do a promotion, there will be people who miss out on the timing. I ran into this outside of OOTP the other day when I bought a DVD player, and several days later the company began offering it at a 20% discount. (I asked - they wouldn't give me the lower price. )

Anyway, I apologize about the unfortunate timing for you.

I had the same issue. Ordered half a day before the promotion started. E-mailed OOTPD to explain my situation and ask for a possible refund of the discount...though, sadly, got no response.

Not getting a refund isn't preferable but it's okay...I, like many here, want to support the continued innovation of the company. Still, jeers to the customer service in this case. I needed that reassuring P.R.-speak e-mail to lure me into a continued loyal addiction to the OOTP franchise. Even a canned response, or perhaps a ghost-written message of friendship attributed to futility infielder Ron Coomer would have wholly sufficed.

Don't go too corporate on me, Heinsohn Industries! I've been burned by friends lost to corporatism before (what have they done to you, Diamond Mind Baseball?)

Zman,

I have personally responded to every e-mail that's come into the OOTPD e-mail box about this issue . . . is it possible that yours didn't get here?

I completely agree!!!! your customer service is beyond excellent, much much better than any old wal-mart ever could be! your responses to problems are almost always in a timely manner, and your explanations are alway sclear and concise. AND also i get more playability/enjoyment out of a game that i can spend $30 on as opposed to one that i would spend 50 for. (by the way, $30 USD is cheaper than e30...w00t!) Anyways keep up the good work guys!

just wanted to throw some appreciation out there for OOTPD for all your hard work. Doesnt seem like you get enough of it sometimes!

Hey ya,

I'm a longtime OOTP fan since 4, and bought 6 + 6.5.

It's time for an upgrade now, and I just wanna ask if there's going to be any special offers coming up again? (Since I just missed this special offer... )
I'm still a student, so I'd like to spend wisely.

Thanks in advance,

Don't know if there are any more offers coming up, except for the 95% discount offer should the Mariners go 11-0 in the post-season, and beat the Padres 4-0 in the World Series...*

* this is not a real offer, nor is it a prediction that has any merit.

It is really no big deal at all! I LOVE THIS GAME.

I was specifically having issues with the ALL TIME GREATS roster set. It just does not work for the MAC version of the game. No fixes from Spanky, so my impatience caused me to buy the PC version so I could use this set. My choice, my money so no issues with Markus or anyone else! Keep up the great work!
