past scouting reports
anyone else running into the problem of past scouting reports not being saved to a player in their player profile. the only way i can get a past report to save is to manually ask my scout to give me a report. anyone know why this would happen.

I am noticing the same thing. When I look at my player development report, the only "past report" I see is from November 1973 - which coincidentally is when I converted my league from OOTP 2007/8 to OOTP 9. All of the occasional "1st of the month" scouting reports my scout has issued for the entire league have not shown up in the "past reports" - only when I specifically ask my scout to give a report on a player, as you mentioned.
Is this intentional? I hope not. I don't want to have to tell my scout to issue a report on every individual player in my organization one-by-one in order to have more than one "past report" to use in my development report! Unless there's a way to tell your scout to issue a scouting report on your whole team, but I don't think there is anymore. I can understand why the game might not want to keep past reports for ALL players in the league when the scout issues updated ratings for everyone, but shouldn't it at least keep all the past reports for your team's players? Is anyone else seeing this problem? Maybe it's only an issue with converted OOTP 2007/8 leagues? Help!! Thanks! |

I think this thread describes the current status of the issue:

Thanks 98 Yankees.
Here's the thing though. The only past report my players have is from November 1973. I'm currently in April 1975. None of my players have a past report from 1974 unless I specifically requested a scouting report for them during that time. So is this a bug in my league because I imported it from OOTP 2007/8? Is there anything I can do to correct this? Maybe do a re-scout of the whole league? I'm sorry to see that this isn't going to be addressed. I feel like they should keep at least three reports per year - at the start of the season, ASB, and end of the season - or something like that. But at this point I'd settle for one report a year! |

It sounds like from that other thread that a scouting report is saved once a year. Is that true? If so when is it I'll get a new scouting report saved? I hired my scout Jan 1, 2008 and he gave everyone a scouting report and that was saved. However, it's Feb 10, 2009 and the only past report I see is the Jan 1, 2008 report.

Well, as soon as my regular season for 1975 started, there was a scouting report from spring training 1975 added to my "Past Reports" for my players. Still not sure why I didn't have ANY reports from 1974 listed in my "Past Reports", so I'm going to keep an eye on this as I continue to play out my league. Right now it sounds like the whole "Past Reports" feature is kind of random and inconsistent. I'd like for that part of the manual to be more fleshed out so that we know exactly what reports get saved in "Past Reports" and how often.

Actually, I stand corrected. The manual does flesh that out:
