It's not possible from within the game, even by going to the Configuration folder through Game Preferences. I thought of swapping out the fonts that are in the data/fonts folder with others that you would rename the same as the originals, but I don't think that would change the size, whatever font you use. However, if you are adventurous, you might want to try this:
Change font See battists' post. Now, that was a year and a half ago and a prior game version, but I just checked; the structure is still the same. Also, battists was talking about game screen font but you can find similar files in another skin folder: \data\skins\ootp modern\style_sets\game_screen_pbp In there are files called control_panel.ss and commentary_box.ss that both have the following parameters that battists was talking about: font_x_sz 14 font_y_sz 14 Now listen up. I HAVE NOT DONE THIS MYSELF and I don't care to experiment. So, I would advise you to: 1) BACK UP YOUR CURRENT LEAGUE(S), 2) BACK UP YOUR SKIN FOLDER(S), and 3) BE PREPARED TO UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL OOTP IF NECESSARY if you care to proceed. Tinkerer Beware! ![]()

That did not change the font size.
font_id -1 font_x_sz 11 font_y_sz 11 But I might have to give the font_id a value instead of -1 as usually, -1 either means ignore or null, so the game could first check the id value and see that it is -1 and so it would never read the font size changes. Anybody else want to weight in? |

Yes, that was in battists' post that I referred to. You may just want to rename the old file to something like oldskin.bin, but you do have to make a new skin.bin file for any skin modifications to work. The game does this automatically when you start OOTP again, and it make take several minutes so be patient.

Unfortunately, none of the suggestions worked.
I tried this file: C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9\data\skins\ootp blue\style_sets\game_screen\pbp_text.ss font_id -1 font_x_sz 10 font_y_sz 10 font_name verabd I also tried this file: C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9\data\skins\ootp blue\style_sets\game_screen_pbp\commentary_box.ss font_id -1 font_x_sz 10 font_y_sz 10 font_name verabd I deleted the skin.bin file in here: C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9\data\skins\ootp blue And I made sure to exit the game before making these changes and restarting the game. I also switched between skins to see if that changed anything and it did not. |

So after playing around with this, I was able to remove the bold font, but still can not change the size.
C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9\data\skins\ootp blue\style_sets\game_screen\pbp_text.ss font_id -1 font_x_sz 4 font_y_sz 4 font_name vera So it was this file, and I just removed the bd at the end of vera and the pbp text does look a lot better, but still no luck in changing the actual size of the text. It honestly looks like Markus disabled the font size, or again, I have to change the font_id from -1 to an actual value of some sort. It would be nice if Markus could chime in and verify whether the font size is being ignored and if there is a way to customize it. Thanks for all the feedback and help everyone. |

Yep that works.
..\data\skins\ootp blue\style_sets\game_screen\pbp_text.ss font_id -1 font_x_sz 10 font_y_sz 10 font_name arial Grabbed the C:\Windows\Fonts\arial.ttf file and pasted it in the data/fonts directory. Thanks for the help. |

This was a good thread - it worked out well as a team project.
![]() BTW pstrickert, thanks for posting that picture of Oscar Gamble. It brought back pleasant memories of my youth when I would wonder how the heck he stuffed that 'fro into a batting helmet. ![]()
