League File Transfer
I have OOTP9 on my PC and on my laptop. I have a number of leagues, some historical, some not, set up and running on my PC and I have set up the same ones on my laptop so I can continue playing when traveling. I copied each league folder in the saved game folder from my PC to my laptop. I am trying to figure out how to do a data transfer so that I can update the league on my laptop from my computer so that I can continue playing where I was on my PC and then transfer the data back when I return home.
I looked at the Commissoner data transfer stuff in the manual but couldn't find anything that seemed to work. Is there away to transfer the current league(s) data or are there certain files I can just copy to my laptop? |

Zipping, copying, pasting, and unzipping league folders is the only way that I know that works every time and actually is less time-consuming then some others. I once tried something called Robocopy (or something like that); it was supposed to compare one folder or set of folders (PC) to another (laptop) and transfer the newest files from one to the other. It worked OK as long as you had the settings correct (otherwise it could be a disaster) but it actually took longer to do than just zipping and unzipping.
However, I will share this note that I wrote to myself on some other game folders that you may want to synchronize, hopefully only one time being necessary. Note that I zip the backup copy, not the game itself. Just a preference, you can do either as long as you DO backup. Here: Quote:
