Historic League Variation
I currently own OOTP2007 and in past versions I always play with historical players but I release all and redraft to Fictional city/nickname teams. I want to get close approximations of player stats and performances but of course they are all playing on fictional teams.
I started a similar league in OOTP2007 (beginning 1969), but the AI did a very bad job of drafting the original teams. Some teams had 4 established closers, some teams would have 7 starters with 30 starts in that historic year, some teams would have three 500-ab first basemen or 10 outfielders, but not one player that can play shortstop. Trading players and balancing out some rosters took more time than what I consider fun. Does OOTP 9 have any features that would give me a quicker start in my type of game? Are there any tips for exporting/importing rosters to at least give the 24 teams some sense of roster balance?
