Realistic Financial Settings for the 60s?

I've been trying to create a league starting in 1962 with the most realistic financial settings possible, but I don't seem to be doing a very good job of it.

I can't seem to figure out how to adjust the total available revenue to match the player salaries (which are the most important aspect to me) in some reasonable way. Teams seem to have way too much cash on hand, regardless of how I set the ticket prices/tv contracts etc.

The data I'm using says that the min league salary was $6,000, the average MLB player made $20,000, and the highest paid player made $125,000. These might actually be 1966 numbers but they're close enough.

If anyone has created a league with salaries near this level, any insight would be welcome!

I saw Andre Dawson. And let me tell you something. There were only two players in my lifetime whose teammates held them in awe. One was Mickey Mantle. The other was Andre Dawson. If you were around, if you saw them play, you know that. But the numbers don't tell you that.
