Gambo Database ver 2.25 coming soon...

Hey guys, just wanted to let you guys know I will be releasing a slight update/fix to my database...

The fixes are...
Players who missed seasons will now import as FA in those years. E.G. Rick Sutcliff 1977. This is originally what I intended but i guess I made an error in doing originally.

The updates are...
A bunch of managers who never reached the majors will now import as players e.g. Buck Showalter will import in 1977 as a Yankee 1B/OF
also A bunch of minor leaguers "who we all know" will now import with the rookies e.g. John Elway will import in 1981 as a Yankee outfielder
For the most part these players will merely be place holders (names for generic players)

I am testing the fixes and will add in the players shortly... Expect this within the next couple of weeks...

Player Addition

Hi Gambo,

Always admire your works!
Thanks a lot.

I was wondering if you could answer my questions below.

1. Is it very difficult to add some players to your DB? I would like to be able to sim my historical league from around 1980 to 2006, and then go foward all the way to, say, 2010. When I do it, I think it will be great if I can add 2007 rookies like Matsuzaka, Okajima, Upton..., as rookies eligible for the trade. If it is not too hard, I thought I would do it myself.
(My guess is it may be really difficult. If it is not too difficult, I assume you would be doing it already...)

2. How would you do it? If it is at all possible and not very hard to do.

3. Do you have any plan on updating your DB like that?

Many thanks in advance for your time.

It's actually pretty easy. If you juyst want to import them in 2007 w/o minor league seasons all you need to do is add them to the master.csv file, add their batting stats to the batting.csv, pitching to pitching.csv and fielding to fielding.csv.

I do plan on adding in 2007 rookies at the end of this season when the stats are final. But that will be down the line.

Hey Gambo is there anyway to get your database to import with minor league stats too? I know this would be tons of work and not asking you to do it, just curious if it's possible?

I would say for it to be practical, No. The amount of work would be shocking and as of right now the way the game imports players it would probably cause more issues than it would solve in terms of realistic stats.

Hi Gambo,

Thanks a lot for your directions!
I will try this when I have time.
