How do I actually get them to show ingame? Where do I place the images?

Put them in your ../Sports Interactive/data/jerseys directory. Then, in game, open the team, then click "Options and Ballpark", then "Edit team colors, logos and uniforms" and you can click "load" to browse and get the jersey you want for that team.
