Importing Data Dumps

Quick question, I'm looking to modify my parks.dat file for my league so that I can bring in the desired dimensions and ballpark factors for my full minors. Is there any way I can modify my parks.dat file or re-import a modified data dump. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you export the data files to csv you can edit them (except in Excel 2003 which screws up the format) and use my editor program available at http://www.bourtonville.co.uk/OOTPEditor/publish.htm to reload the .csv into the parks.dat file.

You select your game directory at the top, and then on the Parks tab, click Start and Load and it will re-read in the parks.csv - it doesn't allow for deleting of parks though.

If you only have Excel 2003 you'll probably need to go into the file in WordPad and make sure that each line has the requisite number of columns (having just had a look at parks.csv you might get away with it, but if it doesn't import edit the file in wordpad or a different version of Excel)

Thanks very much for you help, your mod helps solve something lacking in this version of the game, I really do not get why importing is limited to rosters and teams. Anyways, thank you for saving me literally many hours of mind numbing work when I do not have that time.

one more question

Sorry, just one quick question about your program, do you know if it would work with microsoft excel 2000 or using the MySql dumps. Thank you.

don't know about 2000 as I don't have a copy of it anymore, but it needs the csvs not the mysql dumps
