I have been playing Diamond-Mind for a long time, and have seen that OOTP is getting outstanding reviews. Is it possible to do the following in OOTP:
1. Replay year-by-year with historical data? 2. Customize the game so that you see the actual stadiums you are playing in? 3. Play the current year (2007) and go beyond with the current MLB Data? 4. Does the baseball game have good to very good replication of opposing computer managers and realistic strategic decisions that pop up in a ballgame? I guess what I am looking for in to play games and also run a franchise. It seems like this game may have everything I am looking for. Thanks for the help. |

2. Yes. 3. Soon. There are people working on the modern day rosters. They're coming out this year a bit later than in previous years, but they're coming. 4. For the most part, the AI is smart. There are some nagging issues but they're generally minor. You'll probably get some dissenting opinion here from posters who have had a problem with a certain area of AI decision-making for numerous versions (e.g. bullpen management, roster moves). Overall, though, I don't think there's anything better out there.

I think you'll love the game once you get into it. I too have played DMB for a number of years and still crank it up from time to time but I've just found that OOTP gives me more of what I want in a complete baseball simulation.
