Players changing defensive positions HELP!!!

I just aquired CF Greg Golson. He is 22 years old and has potential at 78 out of 80 max. He is a stud offensively and defensively. I wanted to ask you guys what you though about his defensive experience.

He has a Range of 82. Error of 84. And Outfield arm of 76. Max defensive rating is 80 so obviouslly this guy is a gold glove waiting to happen. He only has experience at CF though and I wanted to know what you guys though about me changing him to LF. Do you think he could make the adjustment? Would this ruin him? What is your experience in this type of situation? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

He could definitely play LF (or RF), but will suffer when you first move him there until he picks up experience. If possible, have put him in the minors to play the position so that you do not have to suffer through his initial rough patch. Eventually his rating at LF will be higher than his rating at CF, however.

10-15 games, maybe? Long enough for him to pick up 10-20 rating points in LF, at least. But that's strictly my opinion.

If he's a good player already, it may be worth just sticking him in the lineup and living with the results, however.

I think I will plug him right in. I am in a tight division race and I need his bat in a major way. here is another question. Which OF position sees the most amount of ball hit their way? Does anyone have a statistical brakdown on this? Would be interesting to see. Thanks.

I don't have the statistical breakdown, but one would think centerfielders get to the most balls. Ever notice how somewhat slow guys get stuck in the corner outfield spots? Center is for the speedsters who can control the gaps. More important to have a good defensive CFer than a good defensive LFer.
