OOTP 8 or wait?

I downloaded the demo. Really like what I have seen so far but are there any advantages to waiting until the next version is released?

There will be new features with OOTP 9 of course but that won't be out for months yet. It depends if you want to play now or wait until then.

Do you know how many months? Will it be this year or will it be spring 09?
