Computer made a trade for me?

I have a human manager going in a league I created and am just simming away in game. I have all of my roster moves selected to be done by the human manager but I recently had a trade made and finalized by the computer for my team. Am I missing a setting somewhere that would allow the computer to deal for me in OOTP 2008?

Are you the human manager of the team or are you "acting as" commissioner and assigned yourself the team? I think when acting as the computer AI can still make trades. I am not 100% sure because I never use the acting as except for changing logos and team unis.

Do you have control over trades?

Yeah I had the acting as commissioner and assigned myself the team. In the settings I had it set that I would initiate and make trades but it still made a couple on it's own.

If you have the "commissioner" box checked and are just ACTing as team manager then you do not have total control. I thought a warning message came up for that, however I can't see it in my version.

So to have total control you need to be the actual hired manager of a team. After that you can probably use the commissioner function as you need.

Ah thanks, yeah I switched it over this morning and seemed to work now the way I thought it would. Just learning the ropes

I believe that you can actually have both. I set myself up in commish play mode and then hired myself as the manager of my team. I may be misunderstanding something here but it's worked for me so far.
