Unable to start OOTP 9

Purchased OOTP9 today, installed and licensed but then when I run ootp9.exe starts, runs for about 2 secs then dies, no errors at all

Running on XP, 50+G free space, 2G Ram free

How can I find out whats' going wrong

This is occuring on 2 different machines both with similar setups

What is your screen resolution? Do you have any anti-virus programs running?

I have similar issue except I'm running Vista 64-bit, 383 GB free and 6 GB RAM and screen resolution of 1650 x 1050. OOTP used to work until beginning of March. Now I get error message "OOTP has stopped working, Windows is searching for a solution..."

I uninstalled, re-installed, run as administrator, shut off virus software, etc. all to no avail.

I can wait for OOTP 10 but I'm getting worried that it might not work either.

Help please!

OOTP worked for me on 32 bit Vista until the beginning of March. See this thread for details.

Can you please try to temporarily disable Symantec long enough to see if that will let you run OOTP?

If that doesn't work, could you please try uninstalling and reinstalling OOTP?

Still does not appear to do anything. Disabled auto protectd, ran OOTP still started the EXE and shut down in 2 secs.

Then uninstalled and reinstalled same thing,

I also tried to run with trace, no file is created in the folder

I have gotten OOTP to work again!

I uninstalled the following:
Office Live Add-In 1.3
Windows Live Sign-In Assistant
Picasa 3
Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Hotfix (KB958484)
Zone Alarm Extreme

When I restarted my computer, all of Windows, TurboTax and OOTP issues were fixed.

I re-installed Zone Alarm ... everything continued to work except for OOTP.

I uninstalled Zone Alarm, OOTP works. I go back to using VIPRE (which I had removed because of the Windows problems).

OOTP still works!

Anyother assistance or do I need to look to get my money back. I'm not about to start uninstalling applications to try and make this work and I'm certainly not going to look to stop virus programs in order to run it, even though that's not working either.

Any other way to try and get it to log something about why it's not working, any other posts I've seen people at least get a message, since mine jkust dies without logging or telling me anything don't know where to go

I don't suppose anyone has figured out a fix for this?

I've had OOTP 9 for about a year and in general it worked fine. Then all of a sudden, it decided it didn't feel like starting anymore and I can't even generate a log.

I've tried turning off the firewall and AV, I've tried looking at E-license issues, but I don't think it's that. I've tried looking at the other posts on here and the FAQ. If I could at least get a log, I'd have something to work with.

What does the program do before a log is generated, that could be causing it to fail?

Also, is OOTP9 still downloadable? If there are no answers to the above question, I'd like to try re-installing the program before I give up in disgust.
