Sounds like there should be a lot of people there. 29 already and still quite a bit of time until then.

Press Release

OOTP DEVELOPMENTS ANNOUNCES FIRST ANNUAL OOTP CONVENTION
June 4-6 Toledo, OH

(Toledo, OH)—Out of the Park Developments, creators of the OOTP and ITP baseball simulation software, has announced plans for the first annual Out of the Park Baseball Convention. The event will be held June 4-6, 2004 at the Radisson Hotel in Toledo, Ohio.

The convention will feature forums with the creators of the Out of the Park and Inside the Park games along with members of the software development team. Convention activities will include forums for commissioners and members of internet OOTP leagues, sports memorabilia and an open panel discussion including current and former major and minor league players. All attendees will receive tickets to attend a minor league game between the Toledo Mud Hens and Pawtucket Red Sox on Saturday June 5th.

There will be many opportunities for internet league enthusiasts to share ideas on running leagues and for newcomers to the game to learn from experts.

In addition to the forums and activities for convention attendees, activities have been scheduled for spouses during the convention meeting times to allow them to experience the city of Toledo while relaxing and sympathizing with other baseball simulation spouses.

Registration for the convention is $60.00 through April 1, 2004 and $75.00 until the opening day of the convention. Registration for spouses not attending all convention activities will be $25.

Registrations are being taken online at http://www.mhootpa.com/OOTPconvention.htm Payment can be made via Pay-Pal or by mailing in the form with a money order or cashier’s check. No personal checks will be accepted for convention registration.

The convention will be hosted by the MHOOTPA Commisioner Corey Cowell and the local OOTP League (www.mhootpa.com)

Will I need to register my OOTP wife, if she comes with?

I'll be making the 11+ hour drive from Southern Missouri for the convention. Of course, that pales in comparision to Markus' travel distance and time...

Just noticed this as I don't look at the Sticky's too much. I'm no too far away. If I can get work off I'll be looking forward to coming.

We will be asking about Leon, once spring training is done. But having hime there is a goal. ALSO, please register if you plan on attending. We need to have a accurate count on who will be attending. REMEMEBER this is a no risk to you because if we dont have the numbers and have to cancel we will return ALL fees. Also we are approx 40% of where we need to be. This is great considering we have only been posted for approx 10 days.-CC

I want to go, but I'd need to find a few others from the Toronto area to save on gas.

How long a drive from Atlanta?

:-D

I think this is a great idea. When I had my own company for a play-by-mail soccer simulation game our "cup final day" where we simmed the soccer world series live would attract over 200 managers, out of 2000 participants. We played a small soccer tournament where all managers of one league played in one team...

Wich such a real life meeting you build better understanding of designers/players, plus knowing a face will really enhance the online experience. It also removes OOTP from the "geek" status (sorry guys, that is my spouse's view)....

:-D

I also like bringing the wife's, as I even see that more important than the guys getting along....maybe we can even open a wife grieving forum afterwards..

;-)

I will now buy some stocks of the Toledo Shoe Store Index....

From Atlanta roughly 12-14 hours it was about 10-11 from just north of Chattanooga from what I remember.
