I priced my plane tickets. Only concern is that if I buy them now to save some money and then the convention is cancelled then I'm stuck. Any idea when the convention may be "cast in stone"? Definitely interested in coming up from Texas and preliminary plans are made to hook up with some league mates in Chicago and make a roadie to Toledo but I don't have the jack to flush on the plane tix til this is 100% definite.

Have you guys contacted a hotel that will set aside a block of rooms for the convention?

Just a FYI, I'm not sure if anyone really notices this at the top of all the stickes. I didn't see it, despite visiting the fourm a couple times, untill I saw in the last reply box that spleem had spoken but I couldn't figure out where. I had even read this thread using the link in the OT forum but still didnt notice.

I'll second that. I know someone else around here who would go too.

Sadly, I think our chances of getting an OOTP convention are about as good as our chances of getting the Expos. Which I still remain delusionally optimistic about.

Man, I'd love to attend this. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it yet, though.

Maybe some of us Chicagoland guys could carpool it. AA? BCB? Statfreak? Any of you think you might be able to go?

EDIT: I see statfreak is considering going with his family. My wife may not mind if I go, but she'd look at me like I had 3 heads if I asked her if she wanted to go as well.

I live in Dayton, which as I just discovered is about 2:36 from Toledo. If I can find a car and maybe a buddy to go with, I'm there. This is really cool. I remember talk of a FOF convention a few years ago, but nothing materialized. OOTP is cool and it'd be cool to hang with some hardcore sports fans for a weekend

Don't get me started on the baseball coming to Portland thing. I won't stop. lol

And the odds are extremely crazy, but hey. If it happens, or comes anywhere around here (Las Vegas, my hometown) I'm in!

MR, I live in the Chicagoland area too, and wouldn't mind car-pooling. Just have to get that pesky job first.

That sounds like fun. It would be great to do this yearly and move it around. With that said and with a new conference center/hotel opening in my town next year, I'd like to host an OOTP convention. It could be coupled with a Modesto A's, Stockton Ports, Oakland A's, or SF Giants game. Of course, a winter convention also is possible with a 49ers, Raiders, Kings or Sharks game possible.

An OOTP Convention in Vegas ... splendid, splendid idea. I'd be there in a heartbeat.
