In the days of the CDBL we use to run a Home Run Derby as part of the All-Star game off-time. It was mostly fluff for the website, but fun to do none the less. Snnort can provide more details, but I always thought it was cool. We'd have a highlight reel with song like Centerfield play showing some of the dingers. I think we used one of the graphic baseball games of the time to capture the homers.
I also helped runa a sub-league for a while where we allowed teams to "buy" players from the minor league much like how has been players go to the ALPB. So if a player retired for some odd reason earliet sometime we'd re-create that player in the other league. It was an an interesting way to introduce diff talent to both leagues. This was all way before the current OOTP format with it's detailed minors. I ran that league from OOTP 2 through OOTP 6.
