the isle of man needs your help!
here is the sitch:
the Isle of Man Whores owner is finishing up law school and cannot run things right now (yeah, i know...i know). they are in a tough way financially-speaking, and have two premium players whose contrtacts are up this season. after a 9-0 start, the Whores have faded rapidly, and are about 9 games out in early june. their pitching cannot get it done (coondog brisco is the exception here, of course). they cannot reasonably take on more salary to make a run at it. it would most likely be best for them to deal these two premium players. this is where YOU come on. it has been agreed upon by RIBC owners to use forum responses to trade offers to determine what trade offer is best, or if a trade would be accepted in this one-off crucial situation. IoM: Isle of Man Whores Home Page 6th-highest (of 12) budget: $2,947,607 3rd-highest payroll: $4,104,602 projected balance: -$1,246,927 current blance: -$297,750 bottom line here is...this team is in a severe economic crunch. they've got about $2,300,000 on the books for next season, so they should be able to overcome this immediate disaster pretty quickly. the two players: Player Report for #7 Baio Ström Baio Ström, 1B 35 years old...Belgian..."Well Known"...$535,290 salary (13th-highest in league) Baio was an All-Star last season, and was top-10 in most key stats (including 2nd in homers with 37). he is a little off this season, but he can flat-out mash with anyone. Player Report for #39 Blind Pavlin Blind Pavlin, LF 36 years old...Pakistani..."Extremely Popular"...$671,265 (4th-highest in league) Blind is obviously one of the top guys in the league, period. but he is old, and his contract is up. he was 7th in OPS last season. His HR/K ratio was 28/56. this season, he is even doing better. he is really crushing bombs. he is 2nd in homers (16) and 5th in OPS so far. i will update this post with offers as they come in. i will provide you with as much info as i can regarding players to give you guys ample data to deliver an opinion. your input will have a significant impact on the future champion of 1813, as well as the fortunes of a franchise for the next several years. thanks. i trust this will be fun for you. if not, then please don't waste your time. yajeflow rude island baseball congregation commish |

I have nothing to say other than that Isle of Man Whores is the best name for a team I've seen in ages.

OFFER FROM THE CEYLON INTRUDERS:
for 1B Baio Strom 1. 1812 first round draft pick (11th overall), RF Quickdraw McKay. Player Report for #35 Quickdraw McCay he is listed as the #72 prospect by Baseball America. 20 years old, in the Class A African Baseball Congress right now. had some power at Long Beach Poly HS, but has failed miserably in his first year as a pro. despite being "Well Known", he is just starting to get pissed at his situation. 2. to help out with the achilles heel of Isle of Man, their bullpen (2nd in starter's ERA; 11th in bullpen ERA), 1812 4th-rounder, MR Google Mamula. Player Report for #13 Google Mamula Mamula has not pitched much since turning pro out of LSU, but he has pitched well (25.0 IP, 25 H, 7 BB, 11 K, 2.52 ERA, all in Class A). he is 23, so should perhaps be farther along up the chain. with the draft coming soon, plans are to see him move to Class AA. he is not a ranked prospect. 3. SP Cowflops Furlow. Player Report for #41 Cowflops Furlow 23 years old, a two-time ABC All-Star, and a 14-7 career record with a career 3.23 ERA. he still has all three minor league options remaining. |
