isnt there a faster way of uploading all the pages to your website? using my ftp program it takes over a day to upload all the files, isnt there a way to zip up all the pages and quickly unzip them to your website?

Thanks!!

I do it outside of OOTP. I generate the .tar.gz files in the game, and then use coreFTP to put them on the league website.

I also do it outside of OOTP (using the free FTP program FileZilla). It usually takes me about an hour to upload everything.

Well, how long does this take you guys, im currently doing it outside ootp as well with flashftp and it is still taking me a day to do. Isnt there a quick way to upload the tar.gz files then extract it from your website. I was with allsimbaseball.com a while back and I remember something along those lines? Thanks for the help.

Yes, Fidel of AllSimBaseball.com should be able to hook you up with a system to extract the reports once they're on the server. You'll need to contact him to get it set up. I believe he can only do it for you once you have a report uploaded to your /lgreports directory. It sounds like you've done this already, so he should be able to get you going.

hate to ask the obvious, but what type of internet connection do you have?

I have the game create and upload the tar.gz file for a 36 team league with 3 levels of minors and it takes longer to create the file than it does to actually upload it.

Once it is uploaded, I open my site's control panel and select to extract the file from File Manager.

Yes, if your host allows that feature.

It only takes me about 30 minutes to create/upload/unzip the Hardball Heroes files to my site from inside the game.

I do it outside the game also. I upload each folder in a separate ftp window, simultaneously. This usually takes about 20 minutes total, so long as your host allows multiple connections. I never realized it was possible to upload a zip file and extract it locally on the server. I'll look into this too.

i just discovered smartftp has a nice feature called 'workers'. It allows you to upload multiple files at once while running only one instance of the program. As long as your host allows multiple connects of coarse. I set mine to 10 and it updates pretty fast. A lot faster than uploading one file at a time with my other ftp program.
