I think you may be right. The 1936 Giants didn't seem overly impressive in Round #1. The Yankees really shutdown the mighty A's lineup. I think Canseco hit about .150 for the series, with only 1 or 2 homers. For some reason that era A's team doesn't fair well in my tourneys. Only 1 of the 3(88-90) survived round 1 in my Colossal tourney and that was a much more ofrgiving format then this one. Strange.

Yeah, they didn't play all that well. I think Steve Kemp had monster series for the Yankees and really carried them through. He really outshined all of the really big names in the series like Mattingly, Henderson, Bell, Key, and Steib. Today I will post the series Heroes and Goats(for the losing team)for each of the 8 series in this group so you guys can get somewhat of an idea of what really transpired to get the series to where they ended up.

I was surprised my #15 seed 1990 Royals were able to push the #2 seed 1957 Yankees to 18 games !! Almost a OOTP version of #15 Hampton beating #2 Iowa State in the 2001 NCAA tournament....I have some of the worst teams here !! hahaha ...I always root for the underdogs !!
