The Mariners bats have yet to really show up in the series. Detroit has very little pitching yet they are holding the M's to next to nothing offensively. If not for the huge HR for Edgar in Game 7, the Tigers could really be in a strong position, but as it is they are still tied going into the 9th Day.

They are proving just how big a longshot they were that season going worst to first. 1991 was before they really had dominant pitching. Smoltz was the man, and he is having a great series here I believe. I've seen his name a few times as MVP.

It's fun watching the 84 Mets in there. Are any of the Gooden/Strawberry Mets in this competition?

OK. I'm a fan of the deadball too. If we had added 10 teams each, some deadball teams were my next choices. I just can't root against my 89 Reds.

All of the 1v16 series have been way more entertaining then I thought they would be. This tourney has seen some very interesting outcomes to say the least. As I've said before I have my doubts as to whether all 16 of the #1 seeds will make it through the first round.
