Anyone getting the impression that this is slanted towards the Modern Era?

Well pre-1920 is struggling for sure, but I am not sure that any other particular era has a distinct advantage after that.

1901-1920 is 4-12 in series
1921-1940 is 9-7 in series
1941-1960 is 10-4 in series
1961-1980 is 8-9 in series
1981-2004 is 33-32 in series

I would say 33 wins and 32 losses is far from slanted.

Yea, it seems to me since the numbers aren't normalized that deadball teams are having trouble offensively (as well as with 4th starters).

Yes, that can't get Homers, so they have to string together hits. AS far as 4th starters go, I actually have the game set to only use 3, but every team uses 4 for some reason. I have pitching Endurance set to Good as well. It is virtually impossible to make it equal for all eras without a normalized database. I am open to any or all suggestions for my next one.

I guess it's just the fact that so many modern era teams are in it that makes it harder to distinguish who is doing well and who isn't.

I guess that's partly what I meant by "slanted".

That is kinda what I thought as well. I know I think that a lot of slots in Round #2 are taken by post 1980 teams, but then again when I ran the numbers through on who was eliminated there are lot of teams from that same era that have fallen as well.

I realize that as it stands pre 1920 will struggle to score runs, but if I tweak things to be in their favor a little it may cause things to go totally haywire with the other eras. What is seemingly happening with those pre 1920 teams is they are going up against a team with one or two big bats and they can shut them down for most of a series, but they just can't hold them down for 10 of 19 games. Or they just simply can't score enough to make the other offense sweat at all. They need 3-4 hits to score 2 runs whereas 1920-present can do it with a bloop and a blast. At this point I am not sure I can do anything to alter the format of this tourney, but I am more then willing to take some brainstorming ideas for future tourneys.

I apologize to all those board members with the great deadball era teams, they are most likely going to find it hard to advance.

I think it might be. It seems like each of the other groups has had at least one blowout. There might have been one other group that lasted this long with all teams alive, but I am not 100% sure.

This has been a crazy series. I only picked hte '74 Padres, because its my boy's, Dave Winfield, rookie year. If they can pull this off then it will be a little wild. After the first few games I was already to pack up this series and move one...Lets go Padres!!!

Well Winfield has been awesome so far. He has won no fewer then three games for the Padres nearly singlehandedly.

I have the exact same problem with my historical replay. It's a pain in the ass. What's the point on having the option of a 3-man rotation when the AI always uses a 4th starter.

Don't even get me started on spot starters not being used in emergency start situation..............

I am amazed that they have done this well. The Cubs were such a good team and the Padres, well, ....
