Yet Another OOTP6 Dynasty, Year 2: One Flew Over the Pale Hose (Author: cknox0723; 12 ballots; highest vote: 1st (2 times)) Austin James: Playing for His Life (Author, GForce; 11 ballots, highest vote: 1st (4 times)) I've been trying to construct this post for a week and I don't know how to do it. You couldn't pick two different stories to be the collective #1 Dynasty of 2005. Craig is back on top with the Pale Hose, as he bumbles and stumbles his way through his second season at the helm of the scrappy ball players. GForce is new to the countdown, but not new to the posters. Austin James is a brilliant story of a young ball player stuck in a world of turmoil and insanity. GForce really shows his story telling talents in this gripping tale. If you read the first few pages, you wouldn't even know it was about baseball, or had any ties to it at all. It's a fantastic drama. All in all, both of them are worthy. They are written in completely opposite styles, as Craig throws some humor aroundand things to lighten up the losing streak, and is always there for his readers. GForce is on a set schedule, but has done a magnificent job in hooking his readers in. A review: 1a. Pale Hose 1b. Austin James 2. 20th Century Challenge 3. Prologue 4. Set in Stone 5. TWB: Pirates 6. You Pick the Teams! 7. Octopus League 8. Alltime All Star League 9a. Outpost League 9b. All-Forum Dynasty 10. Keystone League I want to thank all the voters. Without your votes, this wouldn't happen. But of course I want to thank all the dynasty writers. You guys are the best. Til next year everyone. |

Thank you, Vris, and thanks to all who voted for and have stopped into Austin's little world to follow the story. I've really enjoyed writing it, and hope I can keep you all interested in it for another year.
It's certainly an honor to share the top spot with Pale Hose as well. And I'm glad to be a part of the great stuff that goes on in this forum. GH |

Congrats to all the winners. It certainly gives those of us struggling along with dynasties something to shoot for in terms of quality and keeping the interest of the forum readers.

Can't think of two more deserving dynasties to share the top spot. I've definitely enjoyed reading both of them.

If you stop writing DoaCMP, I *will* hunt you down and hold you hostage at the keyboard until you start again.

![]() I am not any sort of writer, just a guy who enjoys playing the game and tries to have fun with it while sharing the stories I find with the rest of you folks. It is quite an honor to even be mentioned in the same breath as Austin James and Prologue and the rest. Thank you for the votes and I hope to see y'all back here at the same time (maybe a little earlier?) next year.Craig PS - I would be remiss not to give props to Vris for carrying the voting out again. This contest renews interest in this forum and that can only bring good things. Thanks, buddy. |

Thanks for the votes that put the Keystone League in the Top Ten. After nearly scrapping it after the Great Crash of '05, I realized that I enjoy that dynasty a heck of a lot and didn't want to let it die. It's encouraging to see that some of you enjoy it, too.
Thanks for the effort you put into compiling the rankings, Vris. It's a lot of work, and you and Yoda obviously motivate a lot of us to keep writing and sharing our dynasties here on the forum.

Y0DA just finished his list and I felt like bumping this to "compare" the two.
Plus to give a reminder that this year is winding down. August starts on Monday, so that gives you barely 3 months to get eligible for the Top Ten of '06! I'm starting to compile a list of the most popular (that is, around 1000 views with around a 10:1 view to post count...that is hardly set in stone however...any dynasty is eligible from the year.) The "year" will be from November 2005 up through November 30, 2006. If your dynasty does not fall within that timeframe and you would like it to be eligible for 2006, shoot me a PM and we can talk. This goes for you DAED. |
