************* Also, there's a lot we can do with this award idea. Someone needs to bring it up in November.

#45 – “Set in Stone... MLB Players Stay with Original Franchises”
Started by: Matt in TN Currently in 1917 (after starting in 1892), this one is still going strong. But the unique thing about this one is that 16 seasons were lost in the GC05. So, the first part of this thread is Matt going over those seasons that he lost, in summary style. He highlights the big happenings on each of the teams as well as giving us the leaders in the major categories. His form doesn’t change that much once he goes “live.” The main schtick of this dynasty is that all the players….. Surprise. Stay with their original teams. So Babe Ruth will stay with the Sox of the Red variety and hit the home runs in Boston (and I don’t believe that he is pitching in this dynasty). If you are into the stats of the league, check out the Catobase. As I am not a huge fan of early 1900 baseball, I totally agree with this quote: Quote:

Set in Stone was started by Matt from TN, not metsgeek.

![]() Thanks again Y0DA. I enjoy this dynasty and look forward to completing it. The expansion era will be tricky & I have no idea what to do when we get to the 2000's with players being imported based on incomplete careers... and whether or not I should stop after 2005/06. Anyway, I like old time baseball more than the 50s/60s but players of all eras are interesting to me. Hopefully the following for this thread can snowball as we get nearer the eras we all remember. I can't wait to play out careers of guys I saw in the 70s/80s/90s... because I've *never* gotten a historical replay past the early 70s. The format of the thread troubles me though. I would like to write more & not have it so much of a stat dump but I also want to speed up. Not sure what the heck to do on that front.... Opinions are welcomed.

Right, I'm gonna take some time to plan out my awards idea. Firstly, what shall we call it? My first thought is The Golden Gload Awards. Suggest away. Also, what's most important is that it doesn't tread on Vris' or Yoda's toes. As there'll only be one winner in each category I don't think it will. Apart from that I'll take some time and come up with a format, post it in a new thread so I stop dragging this one OT, get suggestions for improvements, ignore them and do my ass-kicking thang.
A couple of things I have planned out in my mind is to do the whole award show thing. Celebrity 'presenters', clips, craply scripted jokes, and post all the award winners over the course of a few hours in one evening. I'm also thinking post the final nominations 3 weeks to a month before the awards. Give people plenty of time to vote and allow all the nominees to write their acceptance speeches, which they could either post in realtime or, if they can't be there, let me post in their absence. Man this will be spoofarific.

#44 – “Worst Teams Ever: A Dynasty”
Started by: Johnny Slick This one made it on the list based soley on the amount of views that this one got. Is it worth checking out? Not in its current state. It’s a good idea, but it doesn’t get going at all. I should have done a better job filtering this one out. Oh well. Worth a Look Score: ![]()

I always wonder: do you enjoy having these sorts of dynasties pop up on your countdown because it saves you time and effort on a writeup, or does it bother you that they make it at all because you don't feel like they "belong"?
A corollary: did you modify your ranking method from last year?

I have mixed feelings.
On the one hand, no, I don't. There's plenty of other ones that I could talk about and it's just a big waste of time for me and for the reader. On the other hand, it allows me to catch up. I like to be a few days ahead so that if I get busy one day, I can still post something up. It just so happened that on Tuesday or Wednesday I got to the point where I had nothing written for the next day. So this (and the next couple) allowed me to get caught up. Bottom line is that if it's entertaining for me, then it will be entertaining for you, which is why I like the #42 so much (even though it sucks as a dynasty). But we aren't at 42 yet, so I'm about to put up #43 in a sec because this last one one was so short. To answer your other question. Yeah, I had to fiddle with the numbers a little bit because of the Crash and the next couple months where posts didn't count. I like the way it turned out, but I would have loved to not have to deal with the crash.

#43 – “Boston: 2005 & Beyond”
Started by: This is Not Here This is another one that didn’t last. It’s pretty and has pictures (some that even are animated), but ultimately fails the test of time. This one is done well though. I really like how he reports the games, and I LOVE the Rotoworld Transaction Report. However, this one just doesn’t last that long. Worth a Look Score: ![]() ![]()

#42 – “2005 white sox rule
Started by: Anti-Dye This poster is obviously an alias, but this thread did cause some controversy, which is why it’s on the list. Dagrims echoes most of my thoughts on this thread: Quote:
