World Series Game 7

Top of the ninth...no one out...Mets lead 5-4 over the Yankees after a Victor Diaz two run homer.

Jason Bay leads off against Billy Wagner.

Bay strikes out on three straight fastballs.

A-rod digs in. The pitch and a line drive up the middle, base hit for A-rod.

Jorge Posada at the dish. He strikes out on a 2-2 slider.

Jason Lane up. The last hope for the Yankees. Count is 3-2. The pitch, inside fastball, Lane turns on it.

Its back, back ,back ....gone!!!!!! A home run!!!!!!! Yankees take the 6-5 lead!

Robinson Cano strikes out to end the inning....

Can the Yankees hold the lead???

Congratulations! Great season. Not an easy one, but a great one with an exciting finish. Nice going. Thanks for an interesting dynasty, all over too soon. Here are some images to help the celebration:

Randy Johnson has announced his retirement from the game of baseball. After winning the World Series again , the Big Unit felt like he had nothing left to accomplish.

He is 276-142 in his career with a 3.15 ERA and 4562K's.

I'm hacking into your computer and firing Jenkins myself, especially for the second transaction. Leave your computer on and hold steady now. This won't hurt a bit . . .

The Webb deal was a good one, but yea the Bonds one will probally end up hurting me in the long run. I had to give up a hitter to get Webb. With Roy Oswalt and Andy Pettitte wanting way too much(Oswalt went to Boston for 7yrs 20.25mill per, and Pettitte signed for 8mill per for 6 yrs with the Cubs)He is 34!!!that is insane. I was pretty much DHless after dealing Damon. Matsui steps into CF, Lane in LF. So Bonds was actually a good fit. He is injury prone, so hopefully DHing will allow him to play 2 more seasons.

Off-season Transactions of Note:

Royals Trade:
3B/OF Mark Teahen
P Brian Bass
White Sox Trade:
1B Brian Broussard
1.6mill cash

I dont know why either team did that. The Royals have Mark Sweeney play 1st and although Broussard hit 24HR's and drove in 79, he is not a huge improvement. The Sox got Teahen who can hit(.322 in 311 AB's) but they have Josh Fields who is a high level spec already in the majors. Bass is just a 25 yr old stuck in AA, he is trash.
