Yankees 10
Orioles 4

W. A. Small(1-1)
L. L. Hawkins(0-2)

The Moose struggled again. Going only 6 and giving up 4ER. Our offense decided to wait and show up till the eith inning(scored 9 runs) which had me scared for a while. No one really crushed it this game. We had 10 runs and not a single one was from a HR.

Yankee PoG: Jason Lane(2-3 3RBI 1BB 1R)

Yankees 4
Orioles 6

W. D. Cabrera(1-2)
L. R. Johnson(4-1)
S. O. Moreno(1)

Another loss to the O's. RJ didn't look like himself at all. He has been our MVP this season. I'll more on that in the next post. Daniel Cabrera only went 5 2/3 for the O's but he struck out 12 Yankees. Yes, thats no mistake. 12. 12 batters struck out when facing this pile of crap. He gave up 1ER to us and still, still has a 6.30 ERA!!!!!!!

Yankee PoG: Robinson Cano(3-5 1HR 1RBI 1R)

Big Unit Injury Poses Big Problem for Yanks

4/24/06

Ted Wiliford
Staff Writer

Randy Johnson struggled through the innings in yesterdays game. He gave up three earned runs on six hits, one of wich was a home run. He didn't look like the Big Unit that had gone 4-0 up to that point. Many Yankee fans guessed at what might be affecting Johnson. A few fans specualted personal problems, his attitude towards his struggling teammates or possibly, he was just too old now. But the worst fear of all became reality as Randy Johnson was forced to leave the game after facing one batter in the 4th. He was diagnosed with a herniated disk and will be on the shelf for around 7-8 weeks. With Johnny Damon already on the DL, the Yankees have nearly 30million dollars worth of payroll this season sitting out. Thats more than the entire payroll of the Marlins, which is only 13mill(or Johnny Damons salary, or 3 mill less than Johnson's). Something dramatic has to change. This team is old and can't hit or pitch particularly well. Expect more results like the ones this week in Baltimore, Yankee Fans.

Yankees 6
Tampa Bay 3

We won wooohoooo! Jeter hit a homer in the 1st, and our offense managed 11 hits. Pavano gave up all 3 runs in 6 2/3 which wasn't bad.

Yankee PoG: Derek Jeter(3-4 1HR 1RBI 2R)

Ahhhhh. Nothing like a series with Tampa Bay to set things right again.

It did a little to help, but with the Big Unit and Damon out, I'll need more than just one series against the Rays.

I'm about to run a sim and I go to the line-up page and apparently I missed another injury. I must have simmed through it or something. Robinson Cano is out for 3 weeks with a ruptured bicep tendon. Ouch. He's going on the DL for 15 days.

Yankees 14
Blue Jays 3

W. S. Chacon(3-1)
L. J. Towers(1-3)

I called up utility infielder Andy Phillips to replace Cano on the roster. Phillips started at DH with Spiezo at 1st. Giambi had the day off. My offense really showed up today. Chacon wasn't that bad either going 7 and giving up 3 runs. Jeter, Posada and Lane all hit a HR. A-rod hit 2!

PoG: Alex Rodriguez(3-4 2HR 4RBI 1BB 3R) Hoorayyy for A-rod.

W. T. Lilly(1-1)
L. S. Erickson(0-1)

Our team stank it up offensively. A-rod face Lilly 4 times and went 0-4 with 2K's. He sucked it u after being great last game.

PoG: Hideki Matsui(2-4 2DB 2RBI)

W. R. Halladay(2-1)
L. C. Pavano(1-5)
Hi Mr. Halladay, How are you? Oh you'd like to bend us over again? Ok go right ahead!- I believe that was said in unison by A-rod, Giambi and Matsui who all had 0fers. Roy Halladay went 8 2/3 with 12K's.

Yankee PoG:A-rod(0-4 3K 1 GDP )

Giambi Fights with Torre!

5/1/06

Ted Wiliford
Staff Writer

After a recent lost to the Toronto Blue Jays, Yankees skipper called 1B/DH Jason Giambi into his office to discuss his play. Giambi was said to have struck the skipper after an intense conversation. When Giambi struck Torre in the side of the face, reserves Andy Phillips and Miguel Cairo happened to be outside waiting to see Torre. They darted in and held Giambi back. One unnamed Yankee player referred to Giambi's attack as being a result of "roid rage." Yankees GM was quoted as saying " We stand by Joe. He is our manager and will be our manager for a while."," Jason was clearly out of line in this situation and it will not be tolerated." Jenkins had no further comments on what would happen to Giambi. One scout jokingly said " I think they should trade him, but I don't believe anyone would take him." Some say he will be given his release, while a few close to the team have hear of interest from the Royals, Pirates and Padres. Joe Torre was taken to the hospital and released with minor bruising.

This trade pains me a little to make. Giambi was struggling and overpaid(19.5 mill per till 2008) He was signed for three more years and not getting any better. Melky was the piece that hurts me the most. He has great range, good arm and great speed. He also isn't that bad a hitter(.352 in 29 games at AAA) He had everything but power. Clippard is a high ceiling guy but he was 22 and still stuck in A. It was either him or Hughes who is only 19, in AA and around the same ratings.

I feel like aquiring Snell replaces Clippard in the system. Snell is 24 and already almost an ace. He is 2-2 with a 3.24 this year. He helps our weak rotation out right away. Bay will more than likely play LF right now with Matsui switching to CF and Spiezio taking over full time at 1B. Bay is hitting .283 with 6HR and 21 RBI. He is also only 27 and signed till 2009 for 4.5 mill.
