Yankees 5
Twins 6

W. J. Nathan(1-0)
L. K. Farnsworth(0-1)

Liriano started for the Twins and got off to a rocky start, giving up 4 runs in the 2nd inning. He settled in and ended up striking 7 in 6 1/3. Wang struggled on the mound for us giving up 4 in 7 innings. Kyle Farnsworth came in to face one batter in the bottom of the ninth and promptly gave up a gofer ball to Jason Bartlett. Jeter went deep. That was are only bright spot offensively.

PoG: Derek Jeter(2-4 1HR 3RBI 1R)

Yankees 7
Twins 9

W.B. Radke(2-1)
L. M. Mussina(1-1)
S. J. Nathan(4)

Well, we go into Minnesota and get swept. The pitching matchup was Mussina v Radke and neither pitcher did well. This series taught me two things. 1) the twins are better than us and 2) Joe Nathan owns my team.

PoG: Jason Giambi(3-4 1HR 2RBI 2R 1BB)

Yankees 4
Blue Jays 2

W. R. Johnson(4-0)
L. A. Burnett(0-1)
S. M. Rivera(4)

RJ pitched another beauty for us. He is considering retiring, and that sares me. Without him, we wouldn't be near .500. He has been the constant in our rotation. He is now 4-0 in 4 games with a 2.57 ERA. AJ Burnett made his return from the DL for the Jays and didn't have a terrible showing. He gave up 2 runs in 6 innings. I subbed Cairo and Rolls in for Cano and Jeter, so part of our productive offense had the day off. Matsui drove in 2 while Lane and A-rod each had 2 hits.

PoG: Randy Johnson(6.1 2H 0R 3BB 5K)

Yankees 1
Blue Jays 3

W. R. Halladay(1-0)
L. C.Pavano(0-4)
S. B. Ryan(1)

A few days after facing Johan Santana and Fransisco Liriano we had to face ace Roy Halladay. He didn't dissapoint going 8 2/3 only giving up 5 hits and 1 run. Our lone run came from an A-rod homer.

Yankee PoG: Alex Rodriguez(1-4 1HR 1RBI 1R)

Hmmm. Yankees with a 7-7 start? A young Mr. Steinbrenner would already have had your David Jenkins down to Tampa for a little talk. But this is 2006, so George has mellowed with age. Still, Jenkins best be turning this sinking ship around, or something like that.

EDIT: Especially with the Red Sox at 10-5 and Mets at 11-4. Yikes!

Yep. The offense struggles are too blame I believe. I don't know if they are all bad hitters or if we are facing just too much good pitching
