What should be the nickname of the new Bethel, AK team?

In the Alaskan League, the Valdez Vortex club will be relocating to Bethel due to financial concerns. Bethel is home to the Kuskokwim 300, according to many the premier dog-sled race in the world (the Iditarod also runs primarily through western Alaska, of which Bethel is the unofficial capital). So the ownership of the soon-to-be-renamed Vortex is holding a local vote to determine the new name of the club. The two possibilities are "Mushers" and "Huskies." Cast your vote now!

Both are good names...I just think Mushers is unique and very appropriate for the town.

I know what you mean by Mushers, but it makes me think of "pulp: any soft or soggy mass." Not good for a team.

I'd go with Huskies. It's a little unoriginal though.

You could go to http://www.adfg.state.ak.us/pubs/notebook/notehome.php for more Alaskan wildlife ideas. "Bethel Voles" could be fun

The upside of the commonness of "Huskies" is that it would be easy for me to find a logo to "borrow."

Nice logo! Now, the area around Bethel is actually flat, so I'm not sure whether I'll use it, but I do appreciate the effort in digging this up.

I just searched for "mushers logo" then pasted my own text over the top. So don't worry about not using it, I only spent a few seconds on it.

As of right now, the Mushers have won. I've attached a mockup of their logo. A little crude, but the best I could do.
