Star CF Career is Over
Baldelli Tears Ligaments in Ankle 6/24/2010 Los Angeles- The expression on his face said it all when center fielder Rocco Baldelli was injured in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. You could tell that this was no minor injury. Baldelli was examined quickly by the team doctor and immediately rushed to the local hospital. After several tests, the diagnosis was torn ankle ligaments, and in this case, it means his career is over. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim issued the following statement: "It is with great sadness to see Rocco leave the game so soon. He was a great competitor and teammate and we are sure he will stick around in some capacity with our team." This season Baldelli is batting .389 with 23 home runs and getting on base at a .440 pace. His totals include 60 RBIs, 20 walks and 61 runs scored. He has played in 71 games. |
