Baseball from the Earliest Times

This will be a historical/fictional league starting in 1850 when the game is getting started. I have just started this so, I'm not sure where I'm going to take this league yet. Unlike my 1870 league, I'm not going to be doing all the changes and such. Some of the early teams will be made up as well. By 1901, the league will probably follow the actual MLB setup going to a 16 team league and such.

The teams will be:

Baltimore Bays (BLB)
Brooklyn Atlantics (BRA)
New York Knickerbockers (NYK)
New York Cartwrights (NYC)
Philadelphia Liberty (PHL)
Washington Generals (WSG)

Really looking forward to this, but I'm curious how you plan to do the league totals/modifiers. I looked at going back as far as I could take my history, but had to "settle" for 1871 when I couldn't find any stats previous to that.

Well, I'm pretty much just going to have the stats mimic 1871 or something close to that. Low strikeout totals, high errors,.. ETC

1850 Season Wrap-Up

Philadelphia tops all other teams in inaugural season!

Code:
 STANDINGS
Philadelphia Liberty 50-32
Baltimore Bays 46-36
Brooklyn Atlantics 44-38
Washington Generals 40-42
New York Cartwrights 35-47
New York Knickerbockers 31-51
Since the league is a split-season format, the Philadelphia Liberty were the first & second half champions, but you can only win one half. So the 2nd half champion was the Baltimore Bays. The Bays would go on and fall 4 games to 2 to the Liberty in the inaugural National Union League Championship.

1851 Season Wrap-Up

Brooklyn denies Philadelphia back to back championships as they win series 4-1!

Code:
STANDINGS
Brooklyn Atlantics 52-30
Philadelphia Liberty 48-34
Baltimore Bays 44-38
Washington Generals 39-43
New York Cartwrights 34-48
New York Knickerbockers 29-53
The Brooklyn Atlantics would win the first half with a 27-14 record and the Philadelphia Liberty would win the second half with a 25-16 record. It was all Brooklyn as they won the 1851 NUL Championship with a 4-1 series win over Philadelphia.

Looks like great minds think alike.

If you could read my post and offer some pointers, I'd be much obliged...
