April 2009 - Milwaukee Brewers
Manager and GM Fritsche 13th April 2009 American League Player of the Week: LF Adam Lind (.538, 4 HR, 6 RBI - Toronto) - .522, 4 HR, 6 RBI, 7 R National League Player of the Week: LF Jason Bay (.440, 4 HR, 6 RBI - Pittsburght) - .455, 4 hR, 6 RBI, 8 R Opening Day at Miller Park: And its the Astros who come to town. We split a two game series down there last week to open the season. But now their starting CF Cameron is gone. Anyway I think Hunter Pence is a more than decent replacement. I wonder why he started the season at AAA? Let's hope manager Terry Francona (153-177) knows what he does. We still carry only eleven pitchers until the bullpen is really tired and we know whom to call up. Fujita will be back in less than a month and Eric Gagne wasn't called up to close out a game yet. Yahoo! Injury Report: Milwaukee - CL S. Fujita (3-4 weeks) - 2B R. Weeks (6 weeks) Houston - CF M. Cameron (7 months) Game #6 – Houston [3-3] (M. Albers 1-0, 2.57 ERA) at Milwaukee [2-3] (B. Webb 1-0, 2.25 ERA) SS C. Izturis - RF G. Gross - LF R. Braun - 1B P. Fielder - C J. Estrada - CF S. Victorino - 3B M. Gamel - 2B O. Hudson Houston at Milwaukee: 3-0 W: W. Albers (2-0); L: B. Webb (1-1) H: J. Jennings (1), J. Benoit (1), P. Estrada (1) S: C. Blazek (2) HR: - / - E: - / - MoM: M. Albers - 5.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, 3 K Time: 2:52 Attendance: 41560 |

WOOHOO!!!
I just read your entire thread Loeffle, has been fun following your franchise... tough break to the Mets in the WS. Hope your bullpen pans out eventually... maybe you need to trade a prospect or two for a stud closer or setup guy if you get deep again this year. Quick question from someone who's new to the game.... how do you see what the owner expects of you? I can't seem to find that. Thanks! |

April 2009 - Milwaukee Brewers
Manager and GM Fritsche 17th April 2009 After splitting the series with the Astros. We welcome now the Padres to Wisconsin. who come to town. They are doing well so far and are just 0.5 games behind Arizona. They don't carry a SS on their active roster. The last two games seemed to proove that we are on the right way. Starting pitching gives us innings and the bullpen is solid. Even Gagne collected two saves when he was called up. Fielder, Gross and Braun carry our offense, while Estrada, Izturis and Lowell are struggling. Injury Report: Milwaukee - CL S. Fujita (3 weeks) - 2B R. Weeks (5 weeks) Houston - SP J. Reyes (1-2 weeks) - MR M. Guerrier (6 days) Game #10 – San Diego [6-3] (J. Peavy 2-0, 1.76 ERA) at Milwaukee [4-5] (F. Rosario 0-1, 9.00 ERA) 2B O. Hudson - RF G. Gross - LF R. Braun - 1B P. Fielder - CF J. Upton - 3B M. Lowell - C J. Estrada - SS C. Izturis San Diego at Milwaukee: 9-5 W: J. Peavy (3-0); L: F. Rosario (0-2) HR: K. Kouzmanoff 2 (3), C. Lee (5), C. Hunter (1) / O. Hudson (1) E: C. Huffman (4), M. Bradley (1) / C. Izturis (2) MoM: K. Kouzmanoff - 3/5, 2 R, 2 HR, 2 RBI Time: 3:09 Attendance: 41613 Elsewhere: The Braves RF Jeff Francoeur (.298, 2 HR, 4 RBI) will miss three weeks with a bruised jaw. The Mets John Maine (1-0, 3.27 ERA) pitched a three hit shotout against the Colorado Rockies. The Marmots increased to an unbelievable 10-0 record while their starter Jeremy Powell (3-0, 1.33 ERA) pitched a five hit shutout against the Indians. |
