July 2013 - Winnipeg Bisons
Manager and GM Fritsche 11th July 2013 Trade: Kansas City traded Dutch starting pitcher Rick Vanden Hurk (4-7, 4.58 ERA) to Oakland for minor league catcher Martin Mills (.246, 0 HR, 12 RBI, 1 SB - R). Nobody in baseball understands this trade, as Mills isn't regarded as a top prospect. Elsewhere: Mets SS Chris Marrero (.280, 6 HR, 31 RBI) will miss up to six weeks with a strained elbow ligament. July 2013 - Winnipeg Bisons
Manager and GM Fritsche 12th July 2013 This was som really sad baseball from our side against San Diego. They outplayed us in every aspect of the game and especially our pitching looks very lame at the moment. The ERA of our starters dropped from 3rd in the league to 13th and virtually everybody struggles to pitch deep into the game. Offensively we are still top of the league nevertheless. ight be even more tough? Boise sounds beatable, but they also own a record above .500 thanks to very strong starting pitching. Disabled List: Winnipeg - IF Alberto Gonzalez (9 months) Boise - SP Tommy Hanson (2 weeks) SP Hiroki Kuroda (3 days) Game #87 - Winnipeg (48-38, .558, 1 GB) at Boise (44-42, .512, 12 GB) Scott Baker, RHP, 8-6, 4.56 ERA, 16 GS, 118.1 IP, 120 H, 68 R, 60 ER, 19 HR, 21 BB, 72 K, 1.19 WHIP vs. Cesar Jimenez, LHP, 7-4, 4.04 ERA, 15 GS, 91.1 IP, 81 H, 44 R, 41 ER, 15 HR, 28 BB, 51 K, 1.19 WHIP Winnipeg: RF Jayson Werth - 75 G, 219 AB, 54 H, 12 HR, 39 RBI, 41 R, .247, .351, .470, .822, 6 SB SS Sharlon Schoop - 80 G, 305 AB, 95 H, 6 HR, 42 RBI, 57 R, .311, .404, .489, .892, 4 SB 1B Ryan Braun - 86 G, 336 AB, 107 H, 17 HR, 58 RBI, 67 R, .318, .409, .568, .978, 10 SB LF Matt Holliday - 77 G, 261 AB, 78 H, 12 HR, 50 RBI, 50 R, .299, .373, .513, .886, 2 SB CF Wilfrido Pujols - 30 G, 65 AB, 21 H, 9 HR, 23 RBI, 15 R, .323, .443, .800, 1.243. 1 SB 2B Joe Harrington - 84 G, 334 AB, 86 H, 15 HR, 63 RBI, 54 R, .257, .312, .482, .794 C Josh Bard - 53 G, 116 AB, 35 H, 3 HR, 26 RBI, 19 R, .302, .364, .431, .795 3B Chris Davis - 74 G, 169 AB, 40 H, 8 HR, 31 RBI, 21 R, .237, .279, .456, .735 Boise: 2B Luke Appert - 83 G, 258 AB, 50 H, 6 HR, 18 RBI, 30 R, .194, .271, .283, .553, 1 SB C Matt McBride - 78 G, 312, 90 H, 8 HR, 27 RBI, 50 R, .288, .341, .436, .777, 2 SB RF Travis Buck - 84 G, 315 AB, 89 H, 9 HR, 58 RBI, 40 R, .283, .340, .460, .800, 7 SB LF Adam Dunn - 83 G, 287 AB, 67 H, 19 HR, 54 RBI, 48 R, .233, .361, .484, .845 1B Mark Teixeira - 86 G, 313 AB, 75 H, 21 HR, 60 RBI, 48 R, .240, .331, .495, .826, 1 SB SS Mark Ellis - 67 G, 254 AB, 63 H, 7 HR, 31 RBI, 23 R, .248, .303, .374, .677 CF Mark Springer - 73 G, 83 AB, 28 H, 2 HR, 12 RBI, 19 R, .337, .345, .506, .851, 22 SB (2nd year) 3B Joe Crede - 69 G, 183 AB, 44 H, 8 HR, 25 RBI, 20 R, .240, .287, .421, .708, 2 SB

July 2013 - Winnipeg Bisons
Manager and GM Fritsche 17th July 2013 Finally we won a series again, but our 3-9 July record is still worrysome. Thanks for your nice words... For now the dynasty is up and running Really like the game. Wish I could switch to OOTP 11, but when I do so all pitchers are messed up (no stamina) and the game is unplayable. So the plan is keep playing this one on the laptop and a new one on the desktop... |

My better half is German - I hear a lot of 'German sayings' but that is one I will use on her in the future!!
What thoughts do you have on a new desktop game, something similar, or you branching off into a different style, and will you be reporting back on it to here?

July 2013 - Winnipeg Bisons
Manager and GM Fritsche 21st July 2013 Even after more than a year off, we still pretty much suck. Our record for the month of July is 5-11 and our starters ERA dropped to 14th in the league. There are three options: - get help from AAA - get help from a trade - pray that starters 3, 4 and 5 learn to pitch decent again. Stay tuned for more! The problem is we are facing the division leading, full strength and hot St. Louis Cardinals right now. If this series gets lost, we have an uphill struggle to win the division. The Reds, Brewers and Blue Jays are all within five games of us. Disabled List: Winnipeg - IF Alberto Gonzalez (9 months) Atlanta - n/a Game #95 - Winnipeg (52-42, .553, 3 GB) vs. St. Louis (55-39, .585, 3 GA) Bryan Morris, RHP, 3-2, 3.62 ERA, 8 GS, 54.2 IP, 53 H, 25 R, 22 ER, 5 HR, 9 BB, 44 K, 1.13 WHIP vs. Matt Albers, RHP, 7-5, 3.57 ERA, 17 GS, 113.1 IP, 96 H, 50 R, 45 ER, 13 HR, 41 BB, 62 K, 1.21 WHIP Winnipeg: SS Sharlon Schoop - 87 G, 333 AB, 105 H, 6 HR, 45 RBI, 62 R, .315, .404, .495, .899, 4 SB LF John Rodriguez - 84 G, 263 AB, 75 H, 9 HR, 37 RBI, 41 R, .285, .384, .471, .855 RF Matt Holliday - 84 G, 287 AB, 85 H, 12 HR, 52 RBI, 54 R, .296, .368, .505, .874, 2 SB 1B Ryan Braun - 94 G, 366 AB, 117 H, 17 HR, 63 RBI, 74 R, .320, .409, .560, .970, 10 SB C Michael Yates - 81 G, 262 AB, 95 H, 6 HR, 40 RBI, 41 R, .363, .399, . 519, .918 (rookie) 2B Joe Harrington - 92 G, 366 AB, 98 H, 20 HR, 73 RBI, 61 R, .268, .321, .516, .837 (2nd year) CF Jeremy Reed - 62 G, 193 AB, 47 H, 5 HR, 15 RBI, 31 R, .244, .319, .378, .698, 3 SB 3B Tu-Hsuan Lee - 87 G, 232 AB, 64 H, 5 HR, 31 RBI, 37 R, .276, .371, .418, .789, 12 SB St. Louis: 3B Allen Campbell - 90 G, 260 AB, 59 H, 6 HR, 42 RBI, 26 R, .227, .296, .392, .688 (rookie) SS Orlando Hudson - 90 G, 358 AB, 85 H, 4 HR, 32 RBI, 39 R, .237, .290, .346, .636, 9 SB LF Albert Pujols - 79 G, 293 AB, 89 H, 19 HR, 50 RBI, 59 R, .304, .404, .536, .939, 1 SB CF Carlos Beltran - 92 G, 332 AB, 97 H, 12 HR, 49 RBI, 51 R, .292, .371, .500, .871, 14 SB C Bryan Anderson - 93 G, 311 AB, 78 H, 8 HR, 36 RBI, 38 R, .251, .295, .386, .680 1B David Carpenter - 93 G, 311 AB, 65 H, 12 HR, 46 RBI, 36 R, .209, .299, .357, .656, 2 SB RF Ken Duffy - 84 G, 181 AB, 41 H, 6 HR, 19 RBI, 25 R, .227, .290, .331. 621, 6 SB (2nd year) 2B Gilbert Murphy - 92 G, 310 AB, 77 H, 0 HR, 33 RBI, 38 R, .248, .330, .306, .636, 3 SB (3rd year)

Elsewhere: Astros pitcher Rudy Cumberland (NR) pitched a 4-hit shutout on his big league debut. The Brewers Odalis Perez (5-2, 3.36 ERA) pitched a 2-hitter against Colorado. |
