Orioles Pride -- Fire Sale Redacted

Although, I think the Orioles made the right move by slashing and burning. However, I am here to accomplish the same goals, hopefully, while keeping the incumbent personal on the team. This, folks, is a simple no frills 08 league. The only tweak in the rules is that we will be going without coaches or scouts. Oh, and not ratings. I've done dozens of these things. Hopefully this one will stick.

Orioles Hire New Club President

The Baltimore Orioles made a move at the top today, hiring Robert Mang as their new club president.

Owner Peter Angelos is said to be displeased with the state of his ball club. A report has surfaced that Angelos wants payroll cut and the team competing again with the New York Yankees and Boston Redsox for the AL East crown.

At the press conference, Mang said: "I swear to you that I will get our payroll under control and have the team in the playoffs before my four-year contract expires. My main objective will to be replace expensive veterans with young and inexpensive players."

Jay Payton comes off the DL to replace Brian Burres on the 25 man roster. Burres posted a 10.53 ERA in his lone outing - which lasted 2.2 innings.

You have to do something with that rotation. Nice play by Tejada and Markakis though.

I am satsified with the rotation outside of Cabrera. These are young guys; they're going to have their ups and downs. The bullpen, however, is another matter.
