The Whalers won their 3rd consecutive American League Pennant and their 2nd consecutive World Series title. They have become champions for the 9th time.

The Dodgers are now 0-3 in the World Series. They lost in 2114 to the Yankees, and in 2141 to the Suns. This was their first World Series trip in 41 years.

2184 World Series Winners: Arizona Diamondbacks

Arizona has won their 1st World Series. This was their first NL Pennant in 71 years. They had previously lost the World Series to the Royals in 2106, and the Yankees in both 2111 and 2113.

For Hartford, it was their 4th AL Pennant in 5 years. They are 2-2 in these World Series appearances, which really isn't all that bad. Everybody knows that you can't win them all.

1986 was a magical year for the New York Mets, but 2186 won't be. In all of my years playing OOTP, I have never seen this happen before: a team scoring 20 runs in one inning.

In order to give the teams who excel in the regular season a greater advantage in the playoffs, all playoff series (except the World Series) starting in 2192 will be best-of-nine, with every game taking place in the ballpark of the team with the better regular season record. The World Series will also be best-of-nine, with the following format: 2 home, 3 away, 2 home, 1 away, 1 home. With this format, the team with the better regular season record will host games 1, 2, 6, 7, and 9. The team with the lesser regular season record will host games 3, 4, 5, and 8.
