Would you like to be a Hall of Fame voter?
Hi, everybody--
I'm planning to open a Hall of Fame in connection with the semi-historical universe I've created for my What Might Have Been dynasty thread. I'd like to invite you to join my panel of Hall of Fame voters. This league began play in 1920, and is currently about to begin the 1936 season. I'm planning to open the Hall in 1939, the same year the "real" HoF was created. In the meantime, I hope to get as many voters on board as I can. I'm still working out the details, but the voting procedure will closely parallel that of the "real" HoF. There will be yearly elections, and eligible players will need to receive 75% support from the voters to be inducted. As I did with the HoF in my Pat O'Farrell world, I'm probably going to allow players to be eligible for induction after three years, rather than five. Any forum reader who is willing to take the time to cast a ballot in each election is eligible to join the group of electors. Elections won't occur more often than once a week, but on the other hand, I don't want to have to put my dynasty on hold while I round up voters who haven't cast their ballots. I'll establish a separate thread for the Hall of Fame, where I'll list the players who are eligible for induction each year. I'll include a summary of their statistics and accomplishments, so you'll be able to cast an intelligent ballot. Right now I have two voters: myself and a buddy of mine from work. The more reliable voters I can get, the better the process will be. If you'd like to join us, please sign up by posting below. I'll give you more information as 1939 rolls around. Thanks in advance for joining the fun! I'm looking forward to hearing from lots of you.

Great! Now there are four, counting me and a friend of mine who let me know offline.
The more ballots I can get, the more meaningful the elections will be.

Good to have you on board. I enjoy participating in these kinds of things, so you can count on me to keep voting every time.

I should add that I'll be on vacation the last two weeks of August so I may miss the first vote, but I should be a reliable voter when I get back.

I'll be pretty busy too, with school starting. I'm a volunteer assistant with our football team, which will take some time, but I don't have to make all the practices, film sessions, etc. (thank goodness).

Absolutely. There will be a couple of very strong candidates who will be wearing Indians caps on their plaques if they're inducted, too.

Great! You're both on the list. Thanks to everybody who's responded already. There's still plenty of time to sign up.

Here's an update on the status of the Hall of Fame:
The Hall will be opening this year (1939), and over the next few days I'll be putting together the inaugural ballot and posting it in this thread. It's not too late for you to become a member of the selection committee. If you're interested, post here or send me a PM. If you've already signed up to vote, thank you again; I hope you're still interested in joining us.
