Game 1, Att:41,027 ![]() ![]() ![]() A 4 run 1st left us playing catch up the whole game and once again we failed to do so. So Houston go 1 up in the series and on this form will probably be favourites to claim the series. There were 2 home runs in the game 1 for each side, Teagarden hit his 1st of the year in the 1st and Blum hit his 5th of the year in the 1st with 2 on and 2 out(One of our main problems this year). Game 2, Att: 40,712 ![]() ![]() ![]() If you scored runs for leaving batters on base, I'm certain we'd be 43-0 this year maybe 40-3 at worst. For the 1st 7 innings of the game it followed the script we've been using all year, leaving batters on whilst the other team slowly build a lead. Enter the top of the 8th bases loaded 0 outs, now thus far this year we'd score no runs and manage to get 3 outs, but not today Andruw Jones smashed the ball out of the ground for a GRAND SLAM, his 4th home run of the year, to make sure we add 2 more runs in the innings to make it 6-3, Francisco then wraps the game up in the 9th for another save. Game 3, Att: 40,810 ![]() ![]() ![]() So we fight back from losing the opening game to take the series 2-1. We opened the scoring then the Astros hit 4 in the third including a Pence home run with 2 on and 2 outs for his 6th of the year. We then showed some verve as we grinded our way back into the game, this time we were did that by the 7th and added a few runs in the 9th to make sure. The only downside was Harrison picked up a knock and had to leave the game early. |

Mostly just a few injuries to report and 1 manager getting fired.

Injuries around the league: 5/22 Cody Ransom(New York Yankees)-Broken knee cap- 6 months 5/23 Kyle McClellan(St.Louis Cardinals)-Surgery to remove bone chips(Elbow)- 6 months 5/24 Nick Hundley(San Diego Padres)- Strained hip muscle-5 months 5/24 Lastings Milledge(Washington Nationals)- Fractured thumb- 4 weeks You're Fired: 5/23 After the White Sox's poor start to the year they've decided that the time has come to remove Ozzie Guillen from his post. The announcement came after a 10-6 loss Vs the Pittsburgh Pirates, leaving the White Sox 12-32 and 17 games behind their divisional leader the Minnesota Twins. Game 1, Att: 47,271 ![]() ![]() ![]() Mixed feelings about today's result, we out hit the Yankees but lost, I was also impressed with our fight back although that ended in failure. If I could replay the game I wouldn't have "walked" Jeter and A-Rod as much as I did. There were 4 home runs in the game 2 for each team, Byrd hit his 4th of the year in the 5th and Jones hit his 5th in the 8th with 1 on, for the Yankees, Matsui hit his 5th in the 2nd and Swisher hit his 13th in the 5th with 1 on. Game 2, Att:48,947 ![]() ![]() ![]() I hate baseball, this game had we wanting to hit someone preferably from our bullpen called Francisco, he blew the 9th and turned a 3 run lead into a 1 run deficit and the innings had a few errors too, to call it schoolboy baseball would be harsh on schoolboys. Having given 2 home runs up in the first A-Rod got his 2nd of the year and on the very next pitch Swisher smacked one out the park for number 14th of the year, we fought back by grinding our way into the lead then in the bottom of the 9th we had the bases loaded with 2 outs and managed to get 0 runs. ![]() Game 3, Att: 48,893 ![]() ![]() ![]() Today I stayed away from the ballpark(I actually hit the finish today button by mistake) and I missed nothing we were shut out for a 5-0 defeat and a series sweep by the Yankees. The only home run of the game came from Jackson in the 4th for his 1st of the year. |

You're Fired: 5/25 Just 2 days after firing Ozzie Guillen the White Sox also fire Kenny Williams, seems the White Sox problems may not just be on the field. Game 1, Att: 49,036 ![]() ![]() ![]() Well I guess the fans got their vaule for money from tonights game. It started off well for us Kinsler hit his 6th home run of the year in the 1st and McCarthy was pitching well, which is something that couldn't have been said about our pitchers the last few weeks. Garciaparra hit his 2nd of the year in the 4th, both team then scored a run each in the 6th then it the scoreless run went for 10 innings, the Athletics scored twice and we had no reply. Would the last one out switch the lights off please. Game 2, Att: 48,745 ![]() ![]() ![]() After the close tight game last night, you'd join me in expecting another close one, The Athletics didn't stick to the script as they hit our pitchers at will. There were 4 home runs in the game all to Oakland: Cabrera started the rout with his 1st home run of the year and what a way to score your first by making it a GRAND SLAM, Holliday hit his 8th of the year with 1 on in the 3rd, Giambi knocked in his 12th of the year in the 4th with 2 on and Sweeney hit his 2nd in the 8th with 1 on. Padilla didn't do it today we needed him to go deep to give the bullpen a chance to recover from last night, but he gave up 7 hits walked 5 and hit 2 batters in 3 and 1/3 innings of woeful pitching. Oh well I guess there's always tomorrow. Game 3, Att: 48,948 ![]() ![]() ![]() WE BEAT OAKLAND WE BEAT OAKLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oakland started the game with Holliday hitting his 9th of the year, it then remained scoreless until the 7th, we then went to town and restored a little pride from last nights drubbing. May 31st has been declared a National Holiday to honor the greatest baseball win ever!!!!! Last edited by Doc_Brown; 12-05-2009 at 09:13 AM. |

So after ending our run of 0-7 Vs Oakland and also ending our losing streak, optimism is back on the menu in the clubhouse. Trade proposal: 5/30 Cincinnati Reds offer us E.Encarnacion(3B) for T.Teagarden(C) and M.Pina(C). We are thinking it over, although 3rd is an area where we are ok, if it was a starting pitcher or someone at 1st we'd be more open to taking it. Achievements: 5/29 Chipper Jones(Atlanta Braves) 5 hit game Vs Arizona Diamonbacks Injuries around the league: 5/29 Manny Ramirez(Los Angeles Dodgers)-Ruptured medial collateral ligament- 8 months 5/29 Hunter Pence(Houston Astros)-Shoulder tendinitis- 4 weeks 5/31 Jeff Karstens(Pittsburgh Pirates)-Shoulder inflammation- 4-5 months 6/1 Yovanni Gallardo(Milwaukee Brewers)- Torn labrum(shoulder)- 9-10 months Trades: 5/29 Seattle Mariners-San Diego Padres: J.Lopez(2B) and N.Adcock(SP) for C.Floyd(RF) and B.Tekotte(CF) 5/30 Tampa Bay Rays-New York Yankees: G.Kapler(RF) for C.Wang(SP) and C.Angelini(SS) Next up for us a road trip to ![]() Projected starters: New York Yankees(1st AL East 35-18) A.Pettitte 7-2 2.32ERA 17BB 57K P.Hughes 0-0 0.00ERA 0BB 0K C.C.Sabathia 9-2 2.94ERA 19BB 65K Texas Rangers(3rd AL West 26-24 .5GB) S.Feldman 3-5 4.45ERA 16BB 30K B.McCarthy 5-0 2.17ERA 19BB 29K M.Harrison 4-3 4.09ERA 14BB 22K |

June 2nd-4th
Game 1, Att: 52,104 ![]() ![]() ![]() Texas fight back stuns Yankees. After getting swept in our past meeting we want to show we can play and beat the big teams. Hamilton got the ball rolling in the 1st with one on has he hit his 6th home run of the year, in the top of the 4th Teagarden hot his 2nd of the year to give us a 3-0 lead, but then the Yankkes fought back Matsui hit his 7th of the year with 2 on to tie the score then Posada with the next pitch made it 4-3 with his 6th of the year, we didn't crumble and fought back in the 8th thanks partly to Jeter who made a couple of errors to allow us back into the game, we held on to take the win. Game 2, Att: 52,347 ![]() ![]() ![]() The difference between victory and defeat is a fine line, today we hit as many home runs as the Bronx Bombers put they manged to take advantage of the short ball game whereas we didn't. If we had a starting pitcher in the same league as Sabathia we'd probably win these kind of games. There were 6 home runs in the game Hamilton hit 2 to take his total to 8, the first was a solo shot in the 7th and his 2nd in the 8th with 1 on, Teagarden carried on his good form with his 3rd of the year in the 9th. For the Yankees Matsui hit his 8th in the 4th, Swisher his 15th in the 5th with 1 on and Rodriguez his 4th in the 6th with 1 on. Game 3, Att: 39,776 ![]() ![]() ![]() This game went one way then the another, during the 7th inning stretch it looked like we may have done enough to steal the win, but once again our pitchers combined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. There were 6 home runs in the game Hamilton hit his 9th of the year in the 7th with 1 on and Blalock hit his 5th of the year in the 7th, for the Bronx Bombers, Damon hit 2, his 1st came in the 3rd with one on and his 2nd in the 5th, Cano hit 2 home runs to take his total to 5 both came directly after Damon's, Jeter hit his 4th of the year in the 4th and Rodriguez hit his 5th of the year with 2 on in the 7th to get the win for New York. |

June 5th-7th
Game 1, Att: 37,517 ![]() ![]() ![]() Once again our inability to turn base runners into runs came back to haunt once again today. It started off with Kinsler hitting his 7th home run of the year in the 1st. Then the problems started as we left batter after batter on base whilst Padilla was having problems finding the zone which allowed Boston back into the game and send us to .500 for the year. Game 2, Att: 39,206 ![]() ![]() ![]() A tight game that could've gone either way, this time it went our way as we managed to eek out the win, hearts in the Rangers dugout started beating a little faster when Lowrie hit his 3rd of the year in the 8th but it failed to spark a Red Sox comeback. Game 3, Att: 39,347 ![]() ![]() ![]() Another solid effort from Feldman as he pitched all 9 and gave up only 2 runs. The game started off with Young going long for his 2nd of the year in the 1st, Andrus hit his 1st homer of his Major League career in the 7th with 1 on, for Boston Lowrie hit his 4th of the year in the 5th and Buck hit his 5th in the 9th but by then it was all over for the Red Sox. |

June 8th-11th
Game 1, Att: 48,765 ![]() ![]() ![]() So after our brief jaunt to the North East we head back home for a series Vs the Blue Jays hoping we can carry on from where we left off in Boston. We comfortably beat the Blue Jays with some solid hitting, pitching and defence. Kinsler hit his 8th of the year in the 4th with 1 on, Byrd hit his 5th of the year in the 5th with 1 on, Snider hit the only Blue Jays homer in the 9th with 2 out, but it didn't inspire a Blue Jays fightback. Game 2, Att: 48,948 ![]() ![]() ![]() Once again today showed us what we're missing if we have ambitions of doing something this year, a true Ace in the rotation. Whilst we struggled with Halladay the Blue Jays batters had a nice time of milking Harrison and the buffet pitches they received. Game 3, Att: 48,934 ![]() ![]() ![]() A slugfest today, we got off to a quick start but the Blue Jays kept pegging us back, the 7th was the turning point, 2 outs and Padilla comes out and Gabbard gets the ball due to the middle part of the line up being left handed hitters, what happened next could only be called car crash baseball Gabbard couldn't hold his nerve and gave up the game winning runs. Gabbard has been a huge disappointment since he was called up, I'd like to sack him but I can't so he may be off to minor league ball very soon. Game 4, Att: 49,057 ![]() ![]() ![]() You never know what Rangers team will show up on a day to day basis, is it the one that can carve near misses from cast-iron certainties or the one that grindes it's way to victory. Today the winners turned up, although it was done with a bit more panache than we normally see. A 5 run 2 innings blitz is what pulled over the finishing line. Byrd hit his 6th of the year in the 5th and Teagarden his 4th of the year in the 6th with 2 on. Last edited by Doc_Brown; 10-28-2009 at 12:41 PM. |

Game 1, Att: 48,865 ![]() ![]() ![]() When we gave up a run in the 1st due to an error, I thought it was going to get worse for us, it didn't that was the highlight for the Dodgers, I'm sure they want to forget this game as quickly as they can. There were 2 home runs in the game one from Young in the 3rd with 1 on for his 3rd of the year and Byrd who hit his 7th of the year in the 8th. Game 2, Att: 48,666 ![]() ![]() ![]() 2/2 against the Dodgers, McCarthy was in the zone today with a 5 hit shut out, the dodgers just couldn't take advanatge of twice having runners on 3rd with no outs. We again hit 2 home runs, Blalock with his 6th of the year in the 2nd and Bryd with his 8th of the year in the 7th with 1 on. Game 3, Att: 45,708 ![]() ![]() ![]() A close one until the 6th. It looked like we might get back to back shutouts but that was ended when Martin sent the ball out of the parkfor his 4th of the year with 1 on. I was delighted that Gabbard managed to do what was asked from him today when he got the call. Last edited by Doc_Brown; 10-28-2009 at 09:44 PM. |

![]() We've scouted a few of the guys from the draft, obviously we'd love to sign Strasburg but with 11 teams before us I doubt he'd still be available. Although there are plenty of pitchers there who could do a job in the Majors with a little luck. Last edited by Doc_Brown; 12-05-2009 at 09:15 AM. |

Rangers Draftees
Round 1: Matthew Purke(LHP) Throws in the 94-96MPH range. We're hoping that he'll be a solid add to our rotation in the years to come. Round 2: James Paxton(LHP) Throws in the 97-99MPH range. He throws the ball a little faster than Purke but doesn't have the control to match yet. I'm hoping that he'll develop that in the forthcoming years. Round 3: Shelby Miller(RHP) Throws in the 96-98 MPH range. With his velocity and control I'm hoping that he'll be a strong part of the bullpen for many years to come. Round 4: Drew Storen(RHP) Throws in the 92-94MPH range. Again like Miller we felt that Stroen has the potential to be a great arm in the late innings of games. Round 5: Winston Leslie(CF) Has the making of a solid Center fielder, a strong arm and good range. When it comes to batting he has the ability to be a solid hitter, needs to develop a bit more patience when it comes to swinging at pitches, also has good base running speed. Round 6: Ramon Baez(CF) Round 7: Steven Nichols(CF/LF) Round 8: Harley Edgar (RF/CF) Round 9: William Taylor (RF/LF) Round 10: Dave Bishop (LHP-Starter) Round 11: Jacob Turner (RHP-Starter) Round 12: Alex White(RHP-Starter) Round 13: Vern Bright (RHP-Starter) Round 14: Cliff Crosby (RHP-Starter) Round 15: Jeffery Peterson (Catcher) Round 16: Curtis Burgme (1B) Round 17: Juan Carlos Montero (2B) Round 18: Leon Leyva (3B) Round 19: Matt Kelly (SS) Round 20: Victor Macias (2B) Round 21: Jonathan Johns (1B) Round 22: James Todd (RHP-Starter) Round 23: Ron Walls (RHP-Starter) Round 24: Jake Sykes (RHP-Starter) Round 25: Stan Savage (RHP-Starter) Round 26: Rob Bennett (CF) Round 27: Raul Calderon (RHP-Starter) Round 28: Paul Wise (RHP-Starter) Round 29: Brian Faulkner (RHP-Starter) Round 30: L.Sharp (RHP-Starter) |

Game 1, Att: 48,905 ![]() ![]() ![]() The stros left it late but they fought back to win it in extra innings and send us to 0-5 in extra innings games. The game started with us eeking out a lead and all looked good until the 8th inning when Rodriguez got an infield hit, when he really should have been out, then later in the innings Padila threw to 3rd to try and pickoff Sutton the ball went past Young and Sutton scored to tie the game up. Then in the marathon of extra innings Smith hit his 3rd home run of the year to score the winning runs. We hit 2 home runs in the game Murphy hit his 5th of the year in the 2nd and Saltalamacchia his 4th of the year in the 6th. Game 2, Att: 48,992 ![]() ![]() ![]() The heart certainly started beating a little faster in the top of the 9th as Houston came storming back to cut the lead down to 1 run, in a game they should've never been allowed to get back into. Francisco came in and held his nerve to get the 2 final outs. There were 7 home runs in the game, Teagarden hit his 5th of the year in the 2nd with 1 on, Blalock goy his 7th of the year in the 4th and Andrus his 2nd in the 5th, for the Astros Berkamn hit his 8th in the 3rd, Bogusevic his 1st career home run in the 6th, then in the 9th Anderson with is 1st with 1 on and Lee with his 9th and 1 on. Game 3, Att: 48,993 ![]() ![]() ![]() Who will be the best team in Texas as the series stood at 3-2 to us. The way they came out of the blocks it looked like they'd tie it at 3, but their fire was soon put out and we grinded our way to victory. Andruw Jones hit 2 home runs to take his tally to 7, his 1st came in the 3rd with 1 on and his 2nd in the 5th, Murphy hit his 6th of the year in the 4th for the Astros Smith hit his 4th of the year in the 2nd with 1 on. |
