June 19th-21st

Game 1, Att: 41,229

Jumping to a 6-0 lead after 2, which saw Cain removed from the mound, we made the fatal mistake off not closing the game out we took our foot off the gas and couldn't recover from the Giants blitz. McCarthy may have lost the game but he did get his first ever RBI's. The Giants hit 2 home runs in the game from Schierholtz hit his 7th of the year in the 4th and Ishikawa got his 6th of the year in the 6th.

Game 2, Att: 41,419

After yesterdays defeat we got back to winning ways and what was most pleasing was we did it against probably the best pitcher in baseball this year first in ERA and Strikes, admittedly he did cause some trouble with our line up, but by the time the 6th rolled round we got after him and his fielding support cracked and the supporting cast couldn't prevent defeat. The Giants hit the only home runs of the game, Ishikawa struck in the 2nd for his 7th of the year and Schierholtz went long in the in the 7th for number 8 of the year and Lewis hit his 3rd of the season in the 8th.

Game 3, Att: 41,315

A game we won and one that the Giants are kicking themselves for losing. Padilla's poor run carries on he just can't get outs at then moment and can't locate the zone. The Giants must have thought they'd be in for an help yourself day for RBI's and home runs, but our bullpen stopped the flow of runs and our batters began to swing freely and scored our first home runs of the series, as Young hit his 4th of the year in the 8th with 1 on and Saltalamacchia his 5th of the year in the 9th, Molina hit the Giants only home run in the game for his 10th of the year in the 5th

June 23rd-25th

Game 1, Att: 31,030

Losing Millwood on the final out of the 1st didn't help as the bullpen were in pretty bad shape and we just couldn't get away with it. The Diamondbacks scored 5 runs in a 2 inning spell but the hammer blow came in the 7th when they took Perez around the park. We fought back in the 8th but just couldn't take advantage of having runners on base in the 9th. Kinsler hit his 9th of the year in the 1st and Murphy his 7th in the 8th with 2 on for the Diamondbacks Tracy hit his 11th of the year in the 7th with 1 on.

Game 2, Att: 30,963

We set out to make up for yesterdays defeat and we got the ball rolling in the 1st with 3 quick runs, the Diamondbacks get it back to a 1 run game but unlike previous performances we keep our foot on the gas to take the win. Young hit his 5th of the year in the 5th with 2 on and Kinsler became the first Ranger into double figures with a solo shot in the 8th, Reynolds hammered his 14th of the year in the 7th for the Diamondbacks.

Game 3, Att: 30,298

A slugfest in Arizona as the runs and hits rained down. The Diamondbacks were out of the game early they did put a little respectability on the scoreboard in the 9th, but by that time the result was beyond doubt. There were 4 home runs in the game, Saltalamacchia hit his 6th of the year in the 3rd with 1 on, Kinsler hit his 11th of the year in the 4th with 1 on then in the 7th he hit a GRAND SLAM, for the Diamondbacks drew hit his 16th of the year in the 9th.

June 26th-28th

Game 1, Att: 48,945

A nip and tuck game, The Padres took an early leaf and in Rangers 09 style we grounded our way back into the game, aside from their early run the Padres looked toothless offensively, but then they came back in the 9th to almost force the game into the bottom of the 9th. Kouzmanoff scored the only home run of the game in the 2nd for his 5th of the year.

Game 2, Att: 49,059

A game for the batters today as the hits just kept coming, alas for us we were out hit and out scored by the Padres. The 8th is where we lost it as the entire Padres line up got an at bat, we just couldn't get them out and they took advantage.

Game 3, Att: 48,654

Another high hitting and scoring game, in which the baseball gods smiled on us as we took the win. We scored our runs in bursts and got into the Padres bull pen early, Millwood gave up a few runs but held it together long enough for us to get the win. Headley hit the only home run of the game in the 9th for his 4th of the year.

June 29th,30th July 1st

Game 1, Att: 48,668

After the Inter-League section of the season it's now back to playing our Divisional rivals and the team that most people would think would be 1st i it. The game started off with the normal jab and move style waiting for the first chance to take the killer blow, we took our chance and came up with a 9 run blitz in the middle innings, Feldman pitched strong for 7 innings but over the last few weeks Hammel has lost is way and that run carried on as he had to be pulled after 2/3 innings as the Angels hit 5th runs in the 8th and 9th, the only home runs were from Ranger bats in the 7th as Saltalamacchia hit his 7th of the year in the 7th with 2 on and Murphy sent the next pitch out the park for his 8th of the year.

Game 2, Att: 48,884

Another game we could've won by a comfortable margin but we allowed the Angels back into it and send it to the wire, we're on a good run at the moment so we seem to get the breaks, I'm sure if we go on a bad run these kind of breaks will go against us. The only home run came from Young in the 8th innings with 2 on for his 6th of the year.

Game 3, Att: 48,664

As with the last couple of series we've played this one also ended 2-1 in our favor, as the Angels out hit and out scored us at some stages it looked like men Vs boys. There were 3 home runs in the game, Vlad hit 2 including his 400th career home run, his 8th of the year came in the 1st and his 9th of the year came in the 8th with 1 on, Kendrick hit his 4th of the year in the 4th with 1 on.

June in Review

Rangers hitting in June

Season hitting so far

Rangers pitching in June

Season pitching so far

Rangers MVP so far: Ian Kinsler 12 HR's 54RBI's .300AVG. Although Ian has committed a few errors in the field he's more than made up for that when he's been at the plate, started the year in the 2 spot but is really producing the goods at the 3 spot.

Rangers Cy Young so far: Brandon McCarthy 9-2 2.78ERA 32BB 52K. McCarthy has been the one who's been on the same level all year so far, although he's tied for most wins and doesn't have as many K's as someother pitchers at the club he's just been the reliable, dependable starter.

Minor League in review:

Oklahoma RedHawks: 39-41 3GB. During the month of June the RedHawks went 17-13 as they battled hard to close ground on the New Orleans Zephyrs. They had some good wins but a period where they were swept by the Nashville Sounds hurt in the chase of the leaders. Max Ramirez(C) had a great month batting at .293 with 4 home runs and with Harrison(LF) also hitting 4 home runs to take his tally to 26 the RedHawks look in good hands offensively, pitching has been good for most of the month although the ERA is still a little high. Feliz had a good month as did Thomas Diamond.

RedHawks MVP so far: Ben Harrison(LF) 26HR's 73RBI's .327AVG

RedHawks Cy Young so far: Beau Vaughan 6-1 12 saves 4.17ERA 30BB 38K.

Frisco Rough Riders: 33-43 11GB. A 13-14 record in June didn't really help the Rough Riders, although they're only 1 game out of 2nd, the San Antonio Missions are well and truely out of sight, so I've set the Riders the goal of finishing 2nd and if they can get back in contact with the Missions that will be a happy bonus. We've got several guys here who've been producing with the bat and that isn't the problem the problem has been with the pitching. The teams record has been win 2, lose 2, win 2 and so on.

Rough Riders MVP so far: Jonathan Greene 14HR's 45RBI's .253AVG

Rough Riders Cy Young so far: Jose R. Diaz 4-0 1.91ERA 32BB 42K

Bakersfield Blaze: 38-38. 15-11 for June the record could've been better but 6 straight defeats early on really hurt them, but from the 13th they went 12-3 with an 8 run win streak in that, if they can start July the way they finished June then they'll soon be bearing down on the San Jose Giants. With the Bat it's been the case of everyone chipping in rather than 1 or 2 standouts pitching wise A.J Murray has been good going 4-1 with a 2-0 record on the month.

Blaze MVP so far: Jason Ogata 10HR's 41RBI's .232AVG

Blaze Cy Young so far: A.J.Murray 4-1 3.49ERA 22BB 60K

Hickory Crawdads: 30-46. 10-15 for the month as the Crawdads struggles continue but they're still ahead of the Delmarva Shorebirds and the aim of the Crawdads is to finish above the Shorebirds.

Crawdads MVP so far: Thomas Berkery 11HR's 42RBI's .226AVG

Crawdads Cy Young so far: Fabio Castillo 3-0 17saves 2.04ERA 26BB 58K

Spokane Indians: 2-6. Not a great start by the Indians we're hoping it's just a slow start and that they'll soon be on pace with the others in the league.

AZL Rangers: 2-1. A solid start, hopefully they'll be able to build on the 2 wins and be up there fighting for the title.

July 2nd

Roster moves:
7/1 Vicente Padilla has been sent to the Oklahoma RedHawks, Padilla started the year off well with a record of 3-1 on May 14th, but since then he hasn't won a game and his record has gone to 3-7 and his ERA to 5.91ERA at one stage it was over 6. Neftali Feliz has been called up to take Padilla's spot on the roster, Feliz enjoyed some success in AAA posting a 9-5 4.41ERA 47BB 88K record.

7/1 Justin Smoak sent to Oklahoma RedHawks from the Frisco Rough Riders and Royce Hoffman made the opposite trip.

Milestone:
7/1 Vladimir Guerrero 400th Home Run

Achievements:
6/29 Aaron Laffey(Cleveland Indians) 3 hit shutout Vs Chicago White Sox
7/1 Corey Hart(Milwaukee Brewers) 35 game hitting streak
7/2 Mike Fontenot(Chicago Cubs) 5 hit game Vs Milwaukee Brewers

Injuries around the league:
6/30 Carlos Zambrano(Chicago Cubs)- Damaged elbow ligament- 13-14 months

July 3rd-5th

Game 1, Att: 48,940

Both teams traded early runs, then in the top of the 5th the Rays scored 2 runs, but the Rangers reply was instant as we hit 7 runs in the bottom of the innings to take the game. Millwood seems to have come out of his slump, yes he did give up some hits and runs but he was able to stay in long enough to record the win. There were 3 home runs in the game, Teagarden hit his 6th of the year in the 3rd and Young hit his 7th of the year in the 6th, for Tampa Aybar hit his 8th of the year in the 8th with 2 on.

Game 2, Att: 48,790

No home runs today, today was about moving guys around the bases with the short ball game, both starters made it hard for the batters and runners but the Rays pitching staff cracked first and we took the runs that were on offer.

Game 3, Att: 49,090

We take the series 3-0, so ending our recent run off losing 1 game in a series. It was a scoreless game going into the bottom of the 5th due to some good defence from the Rays, then Andrus drove in Murphy to open the scoring, then in the 6th the wheels came off for the Rays as they gave up 8 runs, Murphy started it off with a 3 run triple, Andrus then drove in Murphy again then Kinsler hit his 13thhome run of the year with 2 on then Blalock completed the scoring by hitting a run scoring triple. McCarthy who had only thrown 85 pitches was withdrawn at the top of the 7th, we took the chance to give Hammel the ball, Hammel who's been in a slump of late pitched 3 innings giving up 2 hits and 1 walk to record his 1st save of the year, hopefully this will bring him out of his slump.

July 6th-8th

Game 1, Att: 36,485

We took care of this game early with 9 runs in the 1st 3 innings and saw Saunders pulled in the 2nd. Kinsler hit his 14th of the year in the 2nd with 2 on and for the Angels Mathis hit his 1st of the year in the 2nd and Rivera got his 9th of the year in the 4th with 1 on.

Game 2, Att: 36,173

I'm sure that when people dream of their Major League debuts they don't turn out like this. Feliz gave up 12 runs on 17 hits in his first 3 innings pitched, I left him in for 2 reasons, one because I didn't want to destroy any self-confidence that he had left and also our bullpen really needs a rest, so after the nightmare start he came back tp pitch 3 scoreless innings giving up only 1 more hit. We almost managed to sneak our way back into the game but came up 1 run short. Rivera hit 2 home runs to take him to 11 for the year his 1st came in the 1st with 2 on, his 2nd was a solo shot in the 2ns, Izturis hit his 3rd of the year in the 3rd with 1 on.

Game 3, Att: 37,579

After yesterday it was important that we got back on the bike and for 3/4 of the game it looked like we had, but then Millwood had to leave the game in the 5th with back soreness and that meant we had to bring in our tired bullpen and that was the opportunity the Angels were hoping for and they took advantage of it, to win the series 2-1.

July 9th-12th

Game 1, Att: 35,160

Another shutout by Feldman, as we tied the season series Vs the Mariners at 3 each. The game was locked at 0-0 entering the 6th when Young drove in Teagarden for the opening run of the game, then the next batter Kinsler hit his 15th of the year, then in the 8th Blalock drove home our 4th run of the game.

Game 2, Att: 34,591

Seattle out hit us but we managed to out score them. Both starters although they gave up a few hits they were backed up with some solid defence, the only home run of the game came in the 4th from a hit by Byrd for his 9th of the year.

Game 3, Att: 36,279

The end result of this game was due to the fact we took advantage of our runners in scoring position and the Mariners didn't. Cruz hit the only home run of the game in the 6th with 2 on for his 2nd of the year.

Game 4, Att: 34,501

Feliz once again found out that the slightest error in the Majors is punished. If he can just stop throwing the bad pitch with his velocity it wont be long before he's chalking up the wins. There were 6 home runs in the game Blalock hit both of ours to take him to 9 for the year, the first came in the 8th and 2nd in the 9th with 1 on, for the Mariners Betancourt hit his 2nd of the year in the 1st, Johnson hit his 1st of the year in the 2nd with 1 on, Owens got his 1st of the year in the 6th and Balentien got his 15th of the season in the 7th.

July 17th-19th

Game 1, Att: 48,650

The 4th innings is where we lost it as Millwood had a complete meltdown and the Twins took full advantage of it. If you take away that innings we'd have actually won thebgame by 1 run, so it shows you that the slightest error is pounced upon. Hamilton hit his 10th of the year in the 3rd with 1 on and Saltalamacchia hit his 8th of the year in the 8th, for the Twins Punto hit his 2nd of the year in the 9th.

Game 2, Att: 48,944

A come from behind win for us, at one stage it looked like the Twins were going to give us another basaeball lesson. Feldman had trouble for the 1st game in a while as Morneau set about him but for once the bullpen stepped up and bailed out the starter, Gabbard gets a special mention for keeping it tight and Strop claimed his 1st win of the year. There were 3 home runs in the game, Young hit his 8th of the year in the 6th and Morneau hit 2 to take him to 16 for the year, the 1st came in the 3rd and his 2nd in the 5th with 1 on.

Game 3, Att: 48,725

Another close one, that went one way and another before the Twins took the lead and managed to hold on to take the series 2-1.
