You are using retire as in history ???

What if players get a career ending injury before this happend.
Havenīt you got into an increase of players retire. I got irritated on cu-of-coffee players retire very young when they actually could have made a difference. Sooo many other things like trades will eventually still make the game sooo far away from actual history that both retire as in history and the games career ending made me very hard to decide what to do....

How do you feel this works out... I plan to finally start my run in 1987 with the Cubs. I might use Gambo latest version with almost full minors, down to Single A.
I like to reading your advance back to the future

I love your old photos. Is that a pack you are using. Care to share ????

I'm using Matter's injury file,so there are no CEI's,except with setbacks. When the do occur(I haven't had any yet) I will edit the player out of the CEI,making it a long injury instead. As for being close to real-life history I really don't want that.I like the fact that as time rolls on the teams will make trades and shuffle players around,it makes it more interesting.I don't use minors,I use the game's DB so there is no point. As for the photos, they're on Padresfan's website

Obviously still early, but do the Mets and Cubs lock up anytime soon?

And why do the Royals stink so badly in their real-life World Series year?

The Mets and Cubs do not meet head to head until June. They have a 4 game series at Shea from June 17-20 and then in Chicago from June 25-27.As for the Royals,I can't explain it.Ratings wise, they are a juggernaut.Just bad luck so far.I do believe they will bounce back, they almost have too.

MLB Game Of The Day
Wednesday May 8,1985
AT
Candlestick Park,San Francisco,Ca.

Leading 1-0 after 7,thanks to a Chili Davis solo homer in the bottom of the 1st,Giants starter Mike Krukow was six outs away from the first Giants no hitter in nearly 9 years. With the crowd roaring,Krukow struck out Shawn Dunston, walked Billy Hatcher and struck out Thad Bosley, bringing up catcher Jody Davis with two outs and a man on first.Undaunted,Davis crushed a 2-2 curveball, sending it over the wall in left center field, breaking up the no-no,and more importantly putting Chicago ahead 2-1.A dejected Krukow fanned Cubs pitcher Rick Sutcliffe to end the inning. The game would remain 2-1 entering the bottom of the 9th,where Cubs closer Lee Smith hoped to earn his 12th save of the season,it wouldn't happen.Instead, the Giants Chris Brown laced an RBI single to left, tying the game at 2-2 and sending it into extra frames where in the bottom of the 11th,the Giants won the game on a Reggie Patterson wild pitch that allowed 1B David Green to score easily from 3rd giving San Francisco the stunning 3-2 victory. The story though, remained Mike Krukow, who's final line looked like this:
8 IP/1 H/2 ER/3 BB/10 K

MLB Game Of The Day
Saturday May 11,1985
AT

A two run homer by Dale Murphy in the 1st and a solo shot by Bob Horner in the 4th was all of the offense that the Braves could muster off of Expos starter Bill Gullickson(1-5),but it proved to be enough thanks to spectacular pitching by rookie twirler Joe Johnson, who improved his record to 5-0 with 7 tough innings in which he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out three. The final two frames saw the Atlanta relief corps totally shut down the potent Expos attack and the Braves hung on to win 3-2.

David Palmer, the Expos 27 year old right hander from Glens Falls,NY has no hit the Atlanta Braves, defeating them 2-0,with the final out coming on a Milt Thompson pop-out to first. The only blemish on Palmer's ledger was an error on 3B Tim Wallach which allowed Ken Oberkfell to reach first base,he would advance no further. His final line: 9 IP/0 H/0 R/0 BB/4 K,just about perfect.Offensively, the Expos scored on an RBI double by Hubie Brooks in the 1st and a Tim Raines sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 6th.

Having lost 4 straight, the Phillies desperately needed a stop, today they got one.Starting pitcher Shane Rawley(3-1) pitched a complete game shutout of the Mets, allowing just 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 5 in a 4-0 Philadelphia victory.Offensively, the Phils were powered by Mike Schmidt and Luis Aguayo, who both homered.

MLB Game Of The Day
Friday May 17,1985
AT
Comiskey Park,Chicago,Ill.

Thanks to huge days at the plate by 1B Cliff Johnson, who was 2 for 4 with 2 homers and 5 RBI and C Geno Petralli who was 3 for 5 with a triple and 5 RBI the Rangers jumped all over the White Sox,scoring early and often in a 16-4 rout of the hometown Pale Hose.Comforted by a huge early lead,Rangers starter Charlie Hough(6-2) cruised through the game, going the distance, and allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and a walk while fanning 4.Taking the loss for Chicago was starter Joel Davis(1-2), who lasted just 2 innings, allowing 7 runs on 5 hits and a walk.On an odd note,of the Sox 5 hits off of Hough,4 of them were homers,2 by Carlton Fisk, and one each by Rudy Law and Tim Hulett.

Today's Injuries
Padres reliever Tim Stoddard has a sore hamstring and will be out for 2 days.

White Sox relief pitcher Steve Fireovid has a mild hamstring strain and will be out for about 5 days.

MLB News And Notes
Mired in last place with a record of 11-23,the Montreal Expos have decided to make a change. In a hastily called press conference,Montreal GM Murray Cook announced the firing of manager Buck Rodgers to the shock of just about everyone in the Montreal area.A replacement has yet to be named.

Following a 4th inning RBI single by C Alan Knicely that put the Reds ahead of Pittsburgh 3-2,it was shutdown time again,as the Reds staff held the Pirates to just 2 singles the rest of the way, preserving the 3-2 victory and giving Cincinnati their 9th win in their last 10 games.

The logo's from the 70's and 80's IMO were just awesome. The only problem was the uniforms that went with them LOL.They tended to be just a tad loud.
