Bishop On The Move Again
January, 22, 1875 The Philadelphia Keystones dealt SP Red Bishop to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for SS Chandler Hennessey. Cincinnati says they plan to use Bishop as a reliever out of the pen this year and Philadelphia hopes Hennessey will be their opening day starting SS. Brooklyn Announces Name And Uniform Changes
February 2, 1875 The Brooklyn Atlantics have announced that they are changing their team's name going into the 1875 season. They will now be known as the Brooklyn Superbas. Along with the name change, they're also unveiling new uniforms. The ABC League Office is allowing the club to discontinue the ABC trademark 'tie' uniform and go with a new 'panel' style uniform. It's amazing the impact great unis and logos have on a fictional dynasty/league. You're doing a great job with writeups but the look really adds something. I have a hard time getting into fictional leagues but this has my interest. Well done!

Thanks, EM. The uniforms are really fun to make. The logos are going to get harder as this thing reaches the modern era, but that is a long ways off. I am humbled by the views this thread is getting. I appreciate everyone following along. I am having a lot of fun doing this.

March 5, 1875 Today, the ABC announced that the schedule would stay at 56 games for this year. The season will begin on April 2. Here are the Opening Day matchups. versus ![]() The Chicago White Stockings travel to New York to start the season against the Mutuals. Walton Webster takes the mound against Jonathan Starr. versus ![]() Jose Benitez and the New York Mutuals begin the season at home against Rick Sawyer and the Baltimore Canaries. versus ![]() The Cincinnati Reds get their season going at home against the Washington Nationals. SP Curt Young - Washington Nationals Young was the first overall pick in the 1874 First Year Players Draft. ![]() 2. SP Mark Pittman - Philadelphia Keystones Pittman repeats as the #2 player on the list this year. ![]() 3. 2B Caleb Brown - Philadelphia Keystones Brown was the #2 pick in last year's draft. ![]() 4. SP Ricky Armstrong - Brooklyn Superbas Armstrong was the 37th overall pick back in the 1873 draft. ![]() 5. SP Randy Miller - Brooklyn Superbas Miller drops from 1st on last year's list. ![]() 6. MR Ryan Johnson - New York Mutuals Johnson was 2nd on the list last year. ![]() 7. SP Jesus Herrera - Baltimore Canaries Herrera is another pitcher dropping on the list, from 5th to 7th. ![]() 8. Mutuals Clinch ABC Championship
October 21, 1875 New York entered October with a 2 game lead and a magic number of 4. On October 1, they beat Cincinnati 5-4. This increased their lead to 3 games and their magic number became 2. Then on October 5, they beat Washington 3-2 to cut the magic number down to 1. Their 9-8 victory over Washington on the 8th sealed the deal and the New York Mutuals are the 1875 ABC Champions. 1875 Final Standings Code:
