The California Baseball League
The California Baseball League is ready for it's inaugural season. The league contains 16 teams, divided into 2 sub-leagues, the Southern California Division and the Northern California Division. Here are the teams in the league:
Southern California Division San Diego Swing Mission Viejo Hurlers Los Angeles Thunder Long Beach Bruins Ladera Ranch Lions Irvine Vipers Huntington Beach Wizards Anaheim Angels Northern California Division Santa Barbara Rockets San Luis Obispo Sharks San Jose Earthquakes San Francisco Red Hawks Sacramento Capitals Fresno Snow Leopards Fremont Rivercats Bakersfield Blaze The league plays 162 games, with interleague play. The CBL does their playoffs a bit differently from typical baseball leagues. With 16 teams, all 8 teams from each conference make the playoffs, seeded by their record in the regular season. The winners of each conference's playoffs will face off in the California Series. I created California as a nation, and placed the league and all 16 teams in California. The league rules are set at no foreigners allowed, so all players are from California. I will be controlling my hometown team, the Ladera Ranch Lions. |

Ladera Ranch Lions Batters Preview
Here is Ladera's starting lineup for the upcoming 2021 season:
SS Kashyap Gorawala Arguably the best player in the CBL, Gorawala has blazing speed and is a great hitter. 2B Julius Sharp Sharp may not be the best hitter, but he fills the role that the Lions want in this position, a good sacrifice bunter who can put the ball in play C Harumi Mizuno A stud hitter, Mizuno is a big bat for the Lions, and should lead the league in many categories. LF Stu Poole Poole has a ton of power, making him a perfect #4 hitter. 3B Alberto Urbina A solid player, he'll protect Poole and Mizuno. CF John Merritt Not much of a hitter, but he provides speed at the bottom of the order. 1B Jesus Correa A decent hitter, Correa is in the lineup more for his glove at first than his bat. RF Jeff Smith Smith has speed and a good glove, making a solid hitter before the pitcher. |
